The axles under the EcoDiesel platform are nothing new to the Ram lineup. In most cases, they’re the same proven assemblies used in the gasoline-powered models and have built a solid reputation for being relatively trouble-free in stock and light-duty applications. Up front is the ZF 215 reverse-rotation axle, introduced around 2012, which uses an integrated carrier design in which the ring and pinion are housed within the carrier. In the rear is the Chrysler 9.25-inch ZF axle, which began production around 2011 and features a more traditional, durable layout widely used across multiple Ram platforms.
For owners running larger tires, increased towing loads, off-road setups, or performance builds, factory components can experience increased stress over time. To address this, we offer axle upgrades and supporting components designed to improve strength, durability, and overall drivetrain performance. These upgrades help the platform better handle increased torque and load while maintaining reliability and extending service life under more demanding conditions.
