2007.5-2009 Ram 6.7L Cummins

The year 2007 was a big year for Dodge and its close partner Cummins. Due to tightening emissions standards, a new engine design was required, and they would stray from the 5.9L displacement that they had carried since 1989 in favor of a 6.7L with a host of new features. For starters, this new engine would come with the highest factory flywheel power rating to date, a whopping 350 horsepower and 650 lb.-ft of torque. Further, Ram finally let go of their overworked four speed automatic transmissions in favor of a six speed by means of the 68RFE in pickups and Aisin in cab and chassis models. In order to keep up with the demands of higher horsepower and the efforts to reduce emissions, a Holset Variable Geometry Turbo (VGT) was introduced to aid in low end spool up.
