In case you are not sure about the exact quantity you'll need for an oil change, the oil capacity for Ram EcoDiesels is 10.5 quarts of 5W-30, where Jeep EcoDiesels is 8.0 quarts. And VERY important, Ram issued a TSB (Technical Service Bulletin) that states you MUST wait 30 minutes after adding oil before starting the engine to allow the oil to properly drain throughout the engine. Otherwise, you risk catastrophic engine damage. And we must agree, as we are aware of two EcoDiesels that required complete engine replacements after dealers made the fatal error of starting the engine too early.
