Description
The factory air intake on your EcoDiesel is restrictive, plain and simple. And we get the question daily as to why Ram would build a restrictive system. The biggest reason is to quiet the air charge as much as possible. In order to quiet the turbo and all incoming air, Ram chooses to bottleneck the system, which in turn causes great turbulence. This turbulence causes significant inefficiencies, as the turbo's compressor wheel reacts the same way as an airplane to turbulence....it slows. Thus, if you can speed up the charge and reduce as much turbulence as possible, the net effect is a better working turbo, resulting in greater overall efficiency (more power AND fuel economy)! So if you want some easy, bolt-on power for your EcoDiesel, it doesn't get much simpler than adding a cold air intake!

As always, if you have any questions about which air intake is right for you and your EcoDiesel, do not hesitate to give us a call or send an e-mail to cs@dieselpowerproducts.com and we would be happy to assist.
