2005 Chevrolet 6.6L Duramax LLY

Description

The L5P Duramax set some big milestones in the diesel performance industry. First, GM came swinging hard at the horsepower race with a class leading 445 flywheel horsepower. Secondly, they've locked down the ECM, making it essentially "uncrackable" without physically removing the ECM and mechanically manipulating it. Even as such, we get a lot of calls asking, "What do I need to do to my truck to attain a certain horsepower level?" If you've been wondering the same, below are various "recipes" of parts that are needed to reach certain power levels along with any companion parts that you'll need to ensure the overall drivability and integrity of your truck.;

Bear in mind that even though GM says your truck is 445HP, they are quoting flywheel horsepower, not rear wheel horsepower. On a dyno, the actual rear wheel horsepower for these trucks is about 400HP. You'll notice that we do offer a 400 horsepower recipe, and while these parts do not technically increase the power, they will definitely make the truck feel more powerful, deliver some additional exhaust tone, and provide some insurance to the overall integrity of the truck.
