Description
The factory exhaust outlet on the 6.6L L5P Duramax is definitely the most easily identifiable out of any diesel truck. Besides the outlet angle and oversized bellow, it makes it nearly impossible to give your truck an aesthetic upgrade of an exhaust tip without resorting to a complete DPF back exhaust system. Fortunately, Mel's Manufacturing has solved this issue with this 70 degree black powdercoated exhaust tip. This is still a vented tip that is designed to move hot exhaust gas away from whatever you are towing. A exhaust clamp is included to ensure a secure fit and the durable black powder coat finish will look great for years to come.

Mel's Manufacturing has been building some of the best sounding, longest lasting, highest flowing, exhaust systems since 1981. For example, Mel's utilizes lap joint style clamps at most junctions, as opposed to u-bolt style hanger clamps that require crushing the joint to adjoin the two pieces. Good design with bad clamp & finish
"The Exhaust tip is a great design and helps keep the heat away from what you are hauling. The quality of the finish was very low, the exterior side of the bend had many blemishes/ scratch marks from shipping and lots of high spots and imperfections from the material used. The exhaust clamp ended up in the trash as it would not fully tighten and ended up stripping so the exhaust shop I used just welded it on."

"After having a hard time deciding if this would ACTUALLY FIT on my my 2025 CHEVY 3500, I decided to order! I took my pickup down to a Fab shop when I received it. Had a a welder/fabricator hack the stupid stock exhaust tip off at the hanger, grind on the factory pipe, and the Mel’s tip; and make a good solid weld all the way around BECAUSE I HATE CLAMPS. I also HATE THAT GM though that the hey! Let’s take heavy duty pickup and stick the exhaust tip and point it straight at a trailer with nuclear temp exhaust gas so we can see how many catch fire. Jokes on you GM, NO MORE melted trailers, no more melted mud flaps, no more trailers, EGT’s seem cooler. Diesel power, this tip will run up to current 2025 model without throwing an exhaust code. Cut it off at hanger. Weld on! Be happy!"

"Exhaust tip is a great design with a poorly executed finish. Blemishes in finish coating and not properly packed for shipping causing scratches on outside edge of elbow. Exhaust clamp also is a great paper weight, doesn’t work and needs to be welded on."
