Description
There's really something almost nostalgic about a 7.3 There's been so many engine revisions since the last model hit in 2003, but some would still argue that the 7.3 was the best. Either way, its hard to beat the sound of a 7.3 with a 5" straight pipe exhaust. Built from only the highest quality aluminized steel and featuring a straight pipe design, this kit includes all of the necessary hangers and clamps. You'll not only gain an enhanced sound from Powerstroke, but also the added performance, MPG's, and EGT reduction that will literally transform it. Built from heavy-duty aluminized steel, MBRP's Armor Lite Series exhaust systems offer a value price without compromising on the quality built into every component. Featuring a two-piece tail and a muffler eliminator pipe, you'll get the ultimate gain in performance and a quality sound that's sure to deliver. Constructed to the same specifications as their top of the line Armor Pro Series, its backed with a 1 Year Warranty. Built to Perform - You count on your truck to handle whatever you need it to do. With MBRP performance exhaust, you can make that happen with up to 18 more horsepower and 28 ft/lb more torque, not to mention lower EGTs (Exhaust Gas Temperatures). More pulling power, improved throttle response, greater fuel efficiency, with an MBRP diesel performance exhaust you will be amazed at what your truck can do. Minimize Backpressure - The secret to getting more out of your diesel engine is to give it lots of cool, clean air. The only way that you can get fresh air in is to get the hot air out. From the muffler-less design to the fully mandrel bent tubing to minimal bend degree angles, your MBRP performance system gets exhaust out fast. Drop exhaust gas temperature by up to 200 degrees Fahrenheit and set the stage for all the performance you want. An MBRP performance exhaust system is the starting point to getting the most from cold air intakes, programmers, modules and downloaders. Easy Installation - MBRP systems are as much fun to install as to drive with on your truck. Bolt-on, no weld design makes installation a no hassle one and a half to two hour project. Everything is direct fit to the OEM hangers and you get all the clamps and parts you will need, all in one box, no matter what configuration of truck you have. About MBRP Exhaust
Browse MBRP Performance Exhaust Systems Online by Make, Model, and Year. For over twenty years MBRP Exhaust has been delivering performance enthusiasts the most in power, the most in product quality, and the most in customer responsiveness you could possibly expect from exhaust. It all began with the now famous B&B Eliminator, which soon achieved the status as the best selling performance snowmobile silencer of all time. Starting from little more than a vision and an absolute passion for all things performance MBRP inc. is now at the forefront of performance exhaust technology. Marshalling over ten decades of manufacturing and marketing expertise between them, the MBRP design team developed a line of performance diesel exhaust products that has made the rest of the industry take notice, and rush to catch up.

Offering all of its diesel systems in aluminized, T-409 stainless, T-304 stainless, aluminized black, and with and without a muffler ensures that there is an MBRP exhaust for every customer's need and pocketbook. Full bolt-on design and clear, well written instructions mean that consumers can install most of MBRP's systems with minimal tools and in under forty-five minutes. And for everyone, toll free technical support that can talk even the least experienced installer through the process.

MBRP offers many kits in both single and dual outlet configurations. While the performance gains are the same for duals and single systems, the duals offer a deeper more aggressive sound over the single system. This is due to the extra tail pipe and the fact that most dual systems have a slightly different muffler configuration than the single systems.

MBRP even manufactures their "Smokers" kits, which are single and dual in-bed STACK kits to deliver to the hardcore enthusiasts! These kits are available in an assortment of sizes and styles, such as 5" and 6", with turnouts and mitre (angle) cuts. Smokers kits are even available in the new popular BLACK finish for that truly sinister look!!!

The muffler used on all of MBRP's diesel systems is a straight flow through design with a spiral louver core. The muffler is packed with stainless steel wool which is then wrapped with a ceramic fibre blanket to ensure longevity of the muffler. This combination creates the deep mellow exhaust note that MBRP systems are known for.

While performance gains vary depending on the vehicle, you can expect a gain of 5% to 10% in horsepower and torque. For example, with a 2005 GM Duramax diesel, you will see a gain of 18 HP. and 28 ft/lbs measured at the rear wheels. You can also expect a reduction in exhaust gas temperature (EGT) by approximately 200 Degrees F.

The exhaust sounds great BUT

"The exhaust sounds great BUT here’s the kicker, if you are like me and have a 2002 ford f350 long bed with the rear mounted tank be ready to have to take it to and exhaust shop because this one will NOT go over the axle and around the tank without some pretty major modifications to the exhaust so fit was a little below par and they should really add an option for that Quality is great though and I’m beyond pleased with that but for the $ they should really add in some pieces to make it fit around the rear tank so you don’t have to spend another $130 to make it work"

Looks and sounds great. Expect to fight the down pipe.

"The material looks quality, but the fit wasn’t the best. I had to shorten the down-pipe and lengthen the mid pipe to be able to fit it without removing the passenger up pipe. The union between the down pipe and mid was moved closer to the engine. The mid pipe and muffler pipe both had to be shortened."

Christopher J. (4/5)

Great quality

"Everything fit great and was very quality only issue I had was one exhaust hanger needed a little modification"

5”turbo back straight pipe exhaust 99. 7. 3

"I real received a package. It was about 3 foot long 2 foot high 2 foot wide. It look like the carrier had miss handled the pipes a little bent some of the ends. But for the most part, everything received relatively in good shape getting the exhaust off the truck was more difficult than putting the new one on all the pieces and parts were there. The directions were extremely simple. I had never done an exhaust before in my entire life and the entire project from start to finish was 2 1/2 hours."

You rock mark

"You rock mark"

99-03 7. 3 kit

"I was very pleased with the figment. . all hardware included, and packed with care and arrived fast. Definitely worth what I paid"

Steven V. (5/5)

Doesn’t fit

"It doesn’t fit when I installed it and I had to cut and weld it to make it fit and there return policy makes it so you don’t even open the box to be able to return it."

Hunter P. (2/5)

Big difference maker

"A great product although it did come a little bent on some of the pieces. The clamps are little cheap and thinner than I like, but I’m gonna weld it either way so not a big deal. You can also get some better wider clamps on Amazon/eBay for not a bad price."

Q&A

Will this fit a 2003 ford f350 power stroke with a 7.3? It’s a crew cab long bed I just can find anything stating what configuration it will fix
Yes, this is the kit for you. Most exhaust manufacturers, including MBRP, create their kits to build the longest application available, so a crew cab long bed in this case, and for anything shorter, you either shorten one of the intermediate pipes or remove it completely.
Will this kit fit with spare tire mounted in stock location and with airbags mounted over the axle (not over the leaf springs)?
We haven't seen any fitment issues with anyone that have a spare tire or air bag helpers. Most that might need to happen is to slightly adjust the airbag or add a heatshield to the bag to prevent the bag from bursting. -Mark
Hey I have a 1999 Ford F-350 dually 4dr with a 8 inch bed will this kit fit my truck I wanna all 5 inch
Yes, that system will be long enough to fit all cab and bed lengths. It has a 4inch downpipe and will adapt up to 5inch after the downpipe. -Sands
Does this go all the way up into the turbo or does this stop short of that?
That will go up and mate up with the back of the turbo. -Sands
Will the downpipe fit on a stock turbo to a 2000 f250
Yes it will attach to a stock turbo. The downpipe is 4in and will reduce down and have a flange to mate to stock turbo. -Sands
