If you're the owner of any Heavy Duty Dodge Ram, you're fully aware of the issues that has plagued Ram for years that stem from poor steering components. If you've never heard of the a quick search online will reveal everything. Prematurely worn ball joints, tie rods, excessive steering wander, all of these have become the norm if you own a truck with a Rams head badge on the grill. Synergy Manufacturing has set out to change all of that with their Heavy Duty Steering Kit.
This Heavy Duty steering kit is a larger and stronger, bolt-on replacement for the stock steering. No drilling or reaming of the knuckles is required. It uses the updated factory T-style steering design to eliminate toe-change caused by Y-style steering used on all pre-2008 vehicles (with exception to some 1999 models).
Using the factory T-style steering design also results in no induced bump steer inherent with most aftermarket "cross over" steering kits. The Tie Rod also uses low misalignment "wobble stopper" Tie Rod End Boots to prevent unwanted Tie Rod "flop" which results in a dead spot in the steering when changing direction. The complete kit includes a heavy duty Drag Link, heavy duty Tie Rod, and Steering Stabilizer Mount Kit for use with aftermarket steering stabilizers using a 1/2" mounting bolt.
IMPORTANT NOTES:
- We cannot guarantee fitment with aftermarket differential covers. Known compatibility with the following diff covers: aFe Power
- 1998-1999 model year trucks that originally came with the factory T-Style Steering (where the tie rod connects to both knuckles) must use the pitman arm from 1994-1997 trucks, which will be stamped TRW-246. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us.
