An older Silverado or Sierra can still benefit from a smarter way to handle cargo that extends past the end of the bed. The Gate King Tailgate Position Adjuster replaces the factory tailgate cables on early 2000's Chevy Silverado/GMC Sierra 2500HD and 3500HD trucks, giving you 8 different tailgate positions instead of simply open or closed. Lift the tailgate to the angle you need, and the ratchet-and-pin system clicks into place, helping you support and contain longer or oversized gear while getting more flexibility from your truck bed. When used in the neutral position, the Gate King arms function like the factory tailgate cables, and the system automatically resets when the tailgate is closed. Hardened stainless steel chromoly arms provide high-strength support, while stainless steel hardware, a weather-resistant factory E-coating, and a black powder-coated finish help the adjusters stand up to regular use and exposure to the elements. The arms can also be cleaned and lightly lubricated as needed to keep the mechanism operating smoothly. Installation uses the truck's existing bolt holes, so no drilling is required. Simply remove the factory tailgate cables and install the left and right Gate King arms using the included stainless steel hardware, bolts, washers, and release tool. Installation takes about 10 minutes per side, and a limited 3-year warranty backs the system.
