Gate King started with a problem plenty of truck owners know firsthand. Growing up riding dirt bikes from Northern California to the hills of Southern California, the family behind Gate King was constantly loading bikes and gear into the back of their pickup. After watching his sons rely on straps and tie-downs to make everything fit, their father had an idea: what if the tailgate itself could be adjusted to help carry the load?
With more than 52 years of manufacturing experience in the aerospace and automotive industries, the family set out to turn that idea into a real solution. After years of designing, testing, and prototyping, Gate King and its patented Tailgate Adjuster system were born, giving pickup owners the ability to secure their tailgate in 8 different positions for hauling bikes, equipment, building materials, and other oversized cargo.
Designed in California and made in the USA, Gate King is rooted in the same kind of hands-on problem-solving that inspired the brand in the first place. Its products are built for truck owners who actually use their beds, haul their gear, and want a simple way to get more functionality out of their pickup.
