Great product overall!

"So far I am very happy with the product. Not sure about longevity yet as they have only been installed for about 7000 miles. I will say during installation I ran into some issues and dynotrack tech service seemed to not be knowledgable with thier own products installation procedures. The instruction that were sent were for an earlier truck of slightly different design and some steps were different. Luckily Warn tech service was able to help."

Dynatrac + Warn = Nice!

"Whole kit is made with quality parts. I just completed both sides, and the hardest part is just removing all the old parts. Definitely replace the front ball joints during this install. A few notes on this upgrade: 1) The Thrust Washer Seal is available at Napa Auto Parts, #NOS 14634. 2) The ABS block bolt needs a 12-point 5/16 socket. 3) If the locking hub assembly doesn't want to slide onto the axleshaft end, try using a socket to gently tap on it on. It should big enough to cover the inner splined collar, but small enough to fit inside the locking cog. I used a 32mm impact socket & rubber mallet. A few taps and then it slid in easy. 5) Use the small LOCK Ring on the axleshaft end. The SNAP Ring is too big for the locking cog to slide by, preventing the hub from unlocking. 6) The 6 small allen bolts that attach the hub switch need a 9/64 hex key."

Great product and works as

"Great product and works as advertised! So glad to have the front end unlocked when I don't need 4wd. Installation wasn't difficult as long as you follow directions. Perform your work carefully!"

Dynatrac hubs

"It’s a nice kit have installed yet cause of weather but it’s missing one wheel stud"

Beck S. (4/5)

A great Free spin hub

"Relatively easy install. Finding parts should be a breeze when needed. Have gained 1-2 MPG from install. Front of truck not as resistive in steering (great upgrade)."

Kip T. (5/5)

The only issue was the

"The only issue was the kit contained to different sizes of stub shaft. Dynatrac was called and they sent out the correct stub shaft with 2 day delivery. Once the correct shaft arrived it went together with out any other issues"

Free Spin hubs are mandatory for a 3rd Gen Dodge

"It’s a no-brainer. Save yourself a lot of money and prevent a lot of hassle, and potentially a repair bill that exceeds the value of your truck. They don’t make these trucks anymore and you don’t want to end up with a DEF truck. Here’s the deal: When I didn’t have the free spin hubs, a U-joint in my front driveshaft went out and the driveshaft (being spun full time by the front wheels) whipped around and tore up $5000 worth of damage (Transfer Case, Transmission Lines, T-Case shifter linkage, T-Case core charge, Installation charges). In addition to a towing bill, the truck being down for 2 weeks, and it nearly punching a hole through my driver’s side floor board. To avoid that ever happening again I bought this Free Spin Kit immediately after I had the truck repaired. An added bonus was an improvement in gas mileage by about 1/2 MPG (really helps on the highway, not so much in town it seems). One downside to this kit that I don’t like, and it’s a very minor thing, is how far the hubs stick out. Dynaloc hubs are touted for being low profile, but the hubs they screw onto are quite long. I can live with that though to avoid the catastrophic damage that happened to me before."

Q&A

What is the difference between the dynatrac and the warn and does it need different u joints
The Dynaloc versus Warn hubs will use the same u-joints. The difference is that the Dynaloc hubs are rebuildable if you ever needed to down the road as well as being three times stronger than other manual hubs on the market, including Warn. The gears are made from heat-treated chromoly steel and feature a unique tooth design that will not disengage when under a high torque load as some others are known to do. The Dynalocs are also "shorter" so they do not stick out as far as the Warn versions do.
I'm thinking about installing freewheeling hubs on the front of my truck so the fact my truck is a dually should not matter, correct?
Yes, it does matter. You will need to purchase an aftermarket dually spacer from Arrowcraft to use the Dynatrac Free-Spin kit. -Ben
Does the kit come with wheel studs, or must they be purchased separately?
It comes with wheel studs. SA
I'm just wondering if this is an upgrade for the sd Dana 60 or if this will work on the sd dana 50
These would only be compatible with the D60 applications.
