If you're looking for a programmer that delivers results, not hype, for your Cummins, you've found it. We, at Diesel Power Products, have been running Smarty products in most of our personally owned Cummins powered Rams for years and we do it for one reason....THEY WORK. So if you're ready for increased power and a noticeable increase in fuel economy, step up to a Smarty S-06! One of the biggest reasons we choose Smarty, isn't because of the overall power gains, but really WHERE the power comes in at. While many other programmers deliver the same overall power, it comes down to what Smarty calls their CaTCHER software. This software brings the power right off of idle so you can experience the power increase throughout the entire RPM range, not just at wide open throttle. Besides the sheer performance benefits, an added perk is the ease and speed of programming your truck. You merely plug the cord into the OBDII diagnostic port under your dash, follow the on-screen prompts, and in a matter of minutes, you're ready to roll....yes, its that easy. The even numbered programs have the stock timing so you can use the Smarty to stack with other power adders that already add timing, such as the EDGE Juice. But if you are using the Smarty by itself, we have found that running the odd numbered power levels that feature advanced timing will deliver the best results. Further, within each main power level, there are four levels of adjustability for Timing, Rail Pressure and Torque Management to allow you to further fine tune your programming. And to put the icing on the cake, you can also adjust tire size for speedometer calibration and read and erase trouble codes. These HP gains referred to are on a "close to stock" engine but depending on your modifications can be much more. With correctly modified and tuned engines we have seen gains in the 400+ Hp range above the stock software. On the higher settings a stock engine can NOT take full advantage of it because the fuel and air supply from the stock parts are simply not enough. TNT-R PROGRAM INFORMATION: The optional TNT-R programming is intended for those that are looking for the ultimate horsepower increase for use in modified trucks. The horsepower levels start around 130 horsepower on power level #1 and reach 260 additional horsepower on level #9. Should you run the TNT-R programming on power level nine with a stock transmission? Only if you're looking for a reason to upgrade your tranny! Should you run TNT-R loaded down with 20,000 pounds on a stock turbo? Only if you want to hear what it sounds like to turn your compressor wheel into shrapnel! Overall, the TNT-R programming is awesome, we've ran it in numerous trucks here. But it is what it is, intended for trucks that have been built to handle the additional power. Minimum required modifications to run the TNT-R software would be an upgraded turbo, larger injectors, lift pump upgrade, injection pump upgrade, automatic transmission or manual with aftermarket clutch. "What a great product. My trans isn’t doing the famous 48 gear hunt and the power comes in so quick. I’m still testing the waters a little with what tune between 2-3 is going to produce the best economy. Recently bought an EAS EGT probe for the CT3 from you guys as well. "I've only had the tuner a couple of months but so far I'm happy with the results. I'm running the 90hp tune with stock timing stock rail pressure, torque management on 3 with the waste gate on. There's no more turbo lag and There's a very noticeable power increase, and about 1 mpg increase so far. Injectors are quieter than stock tune, with very little black smoke. I have a 48re built with billet input shaft shift kit and triple disk low stall billet converter. With the waste gate off there's a whole lot more power but I hit 40 psi boost and don't want to hurt the motor."

"Best upgrade I have made to my 05 ram. Very hesitant at first with the higher power levels but as long as you arent romping on it and use your head, every level is safe. Tough finding the sweet spot for the fuel economy though, still sitting at 17 mpg."

Q&A

hello, i have a 03 ram 2500 cummins with a edge juice with attitude, can the s06 tune the speedo to show the correct speed at 60-70? right now 60 mph on my speedo is actually 70 and so on and so forth.
Yes the smarty is capable of adjusting tire size.
I got a 2003 cummins. 6spd with a cold air intake 5inch straight pipe, fass fuel system and a south bend dual disk I run the jr but was wondering will the sr produce smoke if the tuner is turned up on higher levels even with normal easy driving? I am wanting to go to sr and drop the jr.
The Smarty Sr. will produce some smoke on the higher settings depending on driving characteristics.
Ok so I have a 2004 5.9 with a 2gen swap turbo and 125 over injectors would this work in those modifications and would it increase the power and mpg
While this will help increase power it is recommended to look into some custom tuning. When we had a Smarty Tuner on our 007 (2007 5.9L compound truck with 125 injectors) while it helped with performance dialing it in was made apparent with custom tuning. -Mark
i need a tuner for a 2004 5.9 with a 9 pin connector
No One is going to offer a tuner for a 9 pin/J1939 style connector for that application. Typically tuners use the OBD2 port of have signal tappers (intercept the MAP, IAT, etc...) -Mark
Will this programmer work with the Mopar / GB Remanufacturing SDFK ( Severe Duty Filtration Kit ) without throwing a code? I use to have the Evolution programming on my Edge CTS2, but every time I switched a setting say from economy to trailer tow, the edge programmer would turn off the B20 setting on my ECU for my SDFK and I would get a WIF hard set DTC code on my dash. Then I had to have my mechanic use the Wi-Tech to turn the code off… PITA…… I want to find a programmer that is SDFK friendly.
It is more then likely going to have the same issue with that Smarty. Since it can't turn off individual codes. -Sands
