Description

If you take your Ram 2500 or 3500 off pavement, the area underneath the AEV Prospector front bumper can still take a hit from rocks, ledges, and rough terrain. The SDHQ Built Skid Plate System adds heavy-duty protection underneath the front end while also increasing clearance and improving the truck's approach angle. On diesel models, it helps protect the intercooler, while Power Wagon models gain added protection around the winch. The system is strong enough to support the weight of the vehicle and can even be used as a lifting point. Built for serious use, the system combines a subframe made from 0.188-wall 4130 tubing with 3/16-inch cold-rolled steel gussets and a laser-cut 3/16-inch 5052 aluminum skid plate. Mounting provisions on both sides let you add rock lights, with confirmed fitment for Baja Designs rock lights and Dune Gear standard or micro rock lights. Installation takes approximately 2–3 hours and bolts directly to the front bumper and structure without requiring modifications. This skid plate fits Ram 2500 and 3500 gas or diesel trucks equipped with the AEV Prospector front bumper and is not intended for trucks with the stock front bumper. It will not work with the AEV intercooler shroud, so SDHQ recommends using the factory intercooler shroud (OEM P/N 68322666AC) for the best fitment. Rock lights, the AEV bumper, and the OEM intercooler shroud are sold separately!
