About PacBrake
PACBRAKE EXHAUST BRAKES

Pacbrake is a manufacturing company based out of Langley, British Columbia that began operations in 1961, specializing in exhaust and engine brakes for commercial truckers, loggers, and the military. Today, their expertise still lies on exhaust braking solutions, but it goes well beyond this and into numerous other vehicle upgrades such as air suspension, air compressors, complete air management solutions, and so much more.

PACBRAKE EXHAUST BRAKES

Diesel Power Products is proud to offer the complete line of Pacbrake PRXB Exhaust Brakes for Cummins, Duramax and Powerstroke diesels. At the time of their release, the PRXB line of brakes was unlike any other, and still maintains superiority over many alternatives to this day. So what does PRXB mean and how does it work? PRXB stands for "Pressure Release Exhaust Brake." Basically, all exhaust brakes have to release a certain amount of exhaust, otherwise it would cause excessive backpressure to the engine and cause damage. However, PRXB's are unique in that they have a variable release so that as RPM's slow down, so does the release of exhaust, equating to better retarding power at lower RPM's. If you tow with your diesel and don't have an exhaust brake, you're simply missing out on the peace of mind and safety that it delivers. Pacbrake's kits come complete, even torque converter lockup controllers when applicable, exhaust adapters for aftermarket oversized exhaust, and more.

PACBRAKE AIR BAGS & AIR COMPRESSORS

With a name like Pacbrake you would assume that they ONLY make diesel exhaust brakes. That couldn't be farther from the truth. Pacbrake has jumped into the light duty diesel truck market with an innovative product line including AMP series air bags, air suspension, Dodge short shift kits, on board air kits and accessories and their MaxFlow Elbow for 1994-2002 Ram trucks which is based on the same elbow used in the PRXB MaxFlow Exhaust Brake kit. Pacbrake manufactures exhaust brakes for GM Duramax, Ford Powerstroke and Cummins Diesels. Not sure which Pacbrake part is right for you? Give us a call or send us an email, we'll be glad to help!

Vacuum Cylinder.

"Works like new again"

Scott D. (5/5)

Perfect solution to my problem!

"My exhaust brake hasn't worked since the previous owner of the truck. I freed up the butterfly valve and it was kinda working but most of the time it would get stuck. I purchased this cylinder and it solved my problem completely!"

Sarah K. (5/5)

Very pleased, definitely returning for business

"I'm very glad that I found this when I did. My brake had been getting weaker over time and I had finally had enough. The part was easy to reference and had good description and pictures. The price was good considering that this part is fairly hard to come by new and also being out dated with pressure run systems. Very pleased and definitely coming back for business. I have also bought other items and am still very impressed with their selection and customer support team."

Q&A

If I have a BD exhaust break can I use this can?
They are not going to be the same unfortunately, we may be able to get the correct can that you need. Please reach out to us at 888-993-4373. If you take a couple pictures beforehand that you could send us to better identify it that would be great! -Mark
I’m sure this is the one I need for my 97’ 12 valve, just wondering if you could cross part numbers to be sure. Old cylinder number M10987F04. Again, I’m sure it is because there probably aren’t many options but just checking.
Not pulling that part number up. But if you have a vacuum canister, not an air canister on your truck that would work. -Sands
I have a pack brake on my 1998 Dodge 2500 Turbo Diesel. The brake quit working and sticks in exhaust. I have to turn the truck off and then back on to get throttle back I am told that the canister trys to move and stops. Is this the correct part for the fix? PacBrake has been on the truck since 1999. Does this come with install instructions?
This will come with very basic install instructions, as it is a somewhat universal part. As for fixing your issue, this may resolve it. However, if there are other lingering problems with the brake, it may be the first in a long line of parts you will throw at it. My best advice would be to reach out to PacBrake directly and have them help troubleshoot the issue with you. -Ben
