Between losing the one spring and ball bearing you need to complete the project, and pairing with the best torque converter to make use of the transmission's gears ratios, it's a huge undertaking. When you purchase a BD transmission and torque converter package, you are getting a matched set that has been dyno tested together for ultimate performance and reliability. Every transmission comes with BD's own Heavy Duty pan that adds extra fluid capacity. For towing, street or track, when it comes to a dependable transmission that will stand up to your diesel's power and torque demands, the clear choice is BD.
Included in the package is the BD 6R140 ProForce 4D Torque Converter. It's designed for hard-working
and modified 6.7L PowerStroke Diesels. This torque converter is equipped
with 4 clutch surfaces designed to handle that heavy towing load and is
intended for up to 900+ horsepower. BD's in-house CNC machined forged
cover is designed to prevent warping and improper balance while
facilitating the increased clutch count without sacrificing strength.
Not stopping at just a new cover, BD has also designed a custom piston,
bearing hub, release springs and backing plate to retain the OEM
captured clutch design which delivers the same great drivability 6R140
owners are accustomed to.
IMPORTANT NOTES:
- Ford
scanner required to update the TCM with the new solenoid code and
initiate a relearn - very critical component to make sure the
transmission works properly
- Transmission is compatible with both 2wd and 4wd applications
- 2WD applications require the yoke adapter and rear mount bracket be transferred over during installation
- Not compatible with PTO provisions, please contact us for options
- Will not fit early 2011 trucks with 8-bolt flex plate and will have to update to 6 bolt flex plate.
SHIPPING POLICY - PLEASE READ - Due to the size and weight of transmissions, they cannot be shipped through traditional couriers, such as UPS, FedEx, USPS, etc. and MUST be shipped via truck freight. We do not offer free shipping on transmissions, however, we do offer a very competitive flat rate charge that is added to your shopping cart at checkout. Further, to aid in returning your core transmission, we give you the option to be billed up front for the core return and we will coordinate the pickup and return of your transmission. Once your core transmission is ready for pick up, you just need to give us a call or send us an e-mail with your original order number and the core tag on the transmission, and we'll take care of the rest.
