"easy enough to change but I think I got a defective filter. I think the anti drain back valve was faulty on this one. every time I started up my truck it would take 2 to 3 seconds to build oil pressure. when up to temp oil pressure was in the 60 to 70psi range at about 1600rpms. cold start ups it would sit close to 90 psi. added the extra quart as suggested for the larger filter, also removed about a quart as well and still got the same results."
"This WILL require an extra quart of oil with your oil change (11qts for most Duramaxes). This isn’t really printed anywhere on listings or the box, but it’s obvious due to the size. Pre-purchased 11qts with this filer, pre-filling it with about half-3/4 of a quart. Installation was simple and there’s enough clearance for this filter in the stock location. The only issue I have is with this being so big and heavy, it’s a LOT of weight hanging off the stock screw-on filer receiver with no support. So much so it leaks a drop or two every ~500-600 miles even though it’s fully tightened. It’s also $36… That being said, after ~1k miles it’s been a great filter but I don’t think I’ll be running this long-term… Will have to see how this holds up long-term."
