Manifold and Up pipe replacement

"One of the most frustrating projects I have done to date. So many broken bolts; even with the use of penetrating oils. Broken up pipe bolts at the turbo housing forced a turbo removal to get the turbo pedestal out. Once the broken bolts were removed and the pedestal re installed access to install the up pipes was a breeze. Heat shields went in easier. But the manifold allen head bolts we a hole new nightmare. I had to go by a 6 mil allen socket that was longer in order to clear the larger diameter exhaust manifolds. The 3 page instructions were only for the manifold work itself. You will need to do some research or experimentation to get things out of the way for this job. All in all the time spent vs the gains of this system are probably not worth it. But since my factory manifold failed on the drivers side this entire kit was a cost effective repair vs dealer items."

"I had to modify a few things to make this work. Typical ppe, they're machine work is a little off. Thankfully I have access to a metal lathe and all the tools needed. As for the functionality of the parts installed, happy with the results. Lowered EGTs as expected."

Overall Good Kit

"Doesn’t come with up pipe bolts. Doesn’t come with all new manifold nut spacers. Only comes with 6 for some reason. Quality seems very good for the manifolds and up pipes. I cut the heat shield brackets off the up pipes and wrapped them in heat wrap. Makes for an easier install. Wish the passenger side manifold didn’t have the egr port at all. Would be cleaner."

"Great fit! Was missing a few bolts but not a big deal. Also I can run tune 5 and keep my EGTS in check when I would see 1800’ before. So far I am happy with them."

Q&A

Do you need a "tune kit" to run these or will it work with no issues in an OEM setup ?
While not necessary these will change flow characteristics and a tune will defiantly maximize potential. Thanks for asking.

Will these manifolds and up pipes make a real difference if the truck is not deleted
Those manifolds will lower drive pressures a bit which can help with EGT's and mileage a bit.
