Description
Keep your transmission cool with PPE's performance bar and plate transmission cooler. Lower your transmission operating temperature with this bolt on replacement. 180% increase in heat rejection surface that lowers temperatures drastically. The Bar and Plate style coolers represent premium quality. Within each repeating section, the internal alternating square pattern(staggered fins) slow the high-temperature fluid which creates a greater transfer of heat radiated through the thin sheet (plate) and cooled by the louvered aluminum fins. This easy installation only takes about 30 minutes and is covered by a limited lifetime warranty.
Available for 2001-03 and 2003-05 Duramax diesel engines.

"I installed the PPE performance trans cooler 3 yrs ago. It's a bit larger than the stock cooler. Worked great except when towing up a long 7% grade in summer heat pulling my 32' tow hauler. I didn't like the trans temps getting above 220. I purchased this PPE bar and plate trans cooler from DPP. It's 2x as big as the older PPE cooler. Very well made. Haven't used it yet, other mods in progress. DPP always has good prices and fast shipping. Below pics show both coolers."

Wrong part sent
"I called DPP and ordered the PPE transmission cooler. When DPP sent me a copy of the shipping label I noticed they were sending the wrong year part, the correct year of my truck was on the label, 2004. 5, but they were sending a 2001-2003 cooler (connectors are different). I immediately called and was told a return label would be issued and it was. However, I was also told that DPP would not be sending me the correct cooler as they do not do exchanges, I would have to order the cooler again. Hmmm. . ."

- Can you use the larger cooler from the 2006 in its place? I hear it is larger and mounts right up. Also, do you have the fleece lines ?
- To my knowledge you cannot use the 06 trans cooler on the 01-05 models without modification.
- Does this cooler work in conjunction with the stock cooler, or is this a standalone unit?
