Even in new condition, the factory 110 amp alternators featured on your Powerstroke is less than satisfactory, and as they get some age on them, they are known to fail unexpectedly. You can replace your factory alternator with a reliable, high output option from Mechman! Available in 240, 320 and 370 amp output.This outstanding large case alternator features 6 phase Hairpin stator technology, twin rectifier plates, and 12 massive diodes for outstanding durability. In diesel applications, this unit can crank out as much as 180 amps at idle while still maintaining the stock length belt. You won't find a more robust alternator for this price anywhere.
2 YEAR PERFORMANCE GUARANTEE
This limited two year warranty allows the customer to return his or her MechMan alternator for repair for a full two years after the alternator purchase date. This warranty does not cover other parts or equipment on the vehicle, and does not cover labor for removal or installation of the alternator. This warranty is VOID if the MechMan alternator is modified, physically abused, misused, improperly installed, or is not used in the application for which it was designed. The MechMan two year warranty is non-transferrable. The customer must include a copy of the original invoice when sending in their alternator in order to receive warranty service. The customer is responsible for shipping the alternator to the Mechman facility for warranty service, Mechman will pay return shipping back to the customer for all alternators under warranty.

IMPORTANT NOTES:
- The coolant line hold down bracket bolt will no longer be used upon replacement of the alternator due to the larger frame. In order to continue using the hold down bracket, slide the mounting tab of the bracket under the case of the alternator when tightening the bolts that hold the alternator in place. See thumbnail images on this product page for an example.
- For any vehicles that have been upfitted with a belt driven air compressor, pump, etc., please verify that your alternator has not been changed to a non-original equipment style alternator. In many instances, when an upfit such as these are done, a different style of alternator is equipped on the vehicle. This is designed to be a direct replacement for an alternator in its original location.

"This alternator does as advertised. Stock alternators for these powerstrokes are always struggling to keep up. With driving an excursion it puts even more of a demand for the alternator to keep up. I can idle or be driving down the highway at 2k RPM doesn’t matter it’s always outputting 14. 1-14. 5Volts. I wouldn’t even recommend wasting any time shopping around d get this product if you haven’t voltage issues. Save your batteries and FICM’s!!!"

- How short a belt will this alternator need and are they commonly available at any solute parts store. Or is this going to be an exercise in futility trying g to find the right size belt
- This will be a direct swap from the factory alternator, so it will utilize the factory length belt.
