Description
Many would argue that the 6.7 Powerstroke is the best Ford diesel ever produced (don't worry 7.3 enthusiasts, we've got your back!). That said, probably the biggest issue that has plagued these trucks is the factory VGT (Variable Geometry Turbo). The earliest model 6.7's, specifically 2011-2014 model years, had notorious turbo failures especially on trucks running above factory boost levels, so for 2015, Garrett made some advancements that improved the reliability, and then in 2017, also made further improvements. Now, these trucks are incredibly easy to increase the power on, but the stock turbo, no matter the year, can really only take so much before it just can't keep up. And this is where the Stage 2 Whistler from KC Turbos comes in.The Stage 2 Whistler features a 6.0 Powerstroke style billet 64mm 10 blade compressor wheel that will vastly outflow a stock turbo, but also deliver the unique 2003 turbo whistle. On the other side, the turbo has an upgraded 10 blade, high flow turbine wheel. The combination of these larger wheels surrounded by upgraded housings will give improved boost control, cooler exhaust gas temperatures, and faster spool-up, making it an exceptional choice for the daliy driver and towing rig. Because this is built off of the same framework as the 2017-2019 model years, it will bolt right up to those trucks. For the 2015-2016 model years, you will need to add a pedestal conversion kit for a complete system. Now, the 2011-2014's will require an installation kit that converts the surrounding components to accept the later model style turbo. But really, this is the best option you have to alleviate the failure prone early style turbos.

"I like the turbo I just ever since it was put in my truck doesn’t run right when I give it a lot of fuel almost feels like it goes into the rate for a split second and then he comes back and then goes into do it for split second comes back it just cuts in and out in and out, so I haven’t really got experienceturbo going and can’t find anybody that does so that’s where I’m at"
