Replace Engine Shut Off (ESO) Actuator with the Grizzly ESO Actuator for 1999-2000 GM 6.5L Diesel engines. This direct replacement for the DS4 injection pump fuel shutoff solenoid addresses common issues like leaking or failure, which can cause no-start situations.Testing the solenoid is simple, just unplug the electrical connector and check for continuity between the terminals with an ohm meter. If there’s zero continuity, the solenoid needs replacing. You can also remove the solenoid and energize the terminals with a 12-volt power source to test the plunger movement. For older models, removing the solenoid may be challenging due to a tight fit. Gently tapping the top with a small hammer can help loosen it for easy removal without damaging the hex hole.
