Q&A

Does this kit replace the plastic container mounted to the block on the 18’Ram?
From the manufacture "A proper model year fuel filter delete (NOT INCLUDED WITH THIS KIT) is required for use with this heated fuel filter base kit to complete the installation. For trucks equipped from the factory with a rear fuel filter housing equipped with WIF and fuel heater the rear fuel filter housing will not be removed when installing this kit. Removal of the rear fuel filter housing or unplugging of the rear WIF and fuel heater will result in the illumination of a check engine lamp." You will need: FPE-FFD-RO-4G delete kit to complete your install on the 2018. Thanks for asking.
Do you have to run the Donaldson P553203? I’ve ran both Napa 3005 and Fleetguard FS19683 but they don’t come with the center/stand pipe o-ring like the Donaldson does. The CAT 1R-0751 does come with the center o-ring either. Is there a list of alt filter to run with this kit or just stick with Donaldson? Thanks.
I would recommend keeping with the Donaldson filter, one for the fact that it includes the o-ring that the others do not, but also because that system is designed for a 3 micron filter, which the Donaldson is, but I can't find evidence that the others you've listed are a 3 micron, or what exactly they filter to. Possibly you have verified this already, but its important to have a 3 micron for proper filtration.
Does this kit have everything needed for install? Or do I have to get the fuel filter delete plate/distribution block with the kit? I'm between this and the xdp kit. I like the features of this one but I'd like to keep factory fuel lines and not have to run the barb fittings. Just makes maintenance easier.
Both are very similar, but this kit will be coming with everything needed for install.
