Description
Dodge steering has always been a bit questionable and even off the lot, they've had a little bit of play in the steering wheel. Many times, this isn't due to worn tie rods or bad ball joints but rather, sloppy joints in the intermediate shaft. One joint in particular isn't serviceable BUT can be tightened up with a bushing. EMF took on the task of designing a tiny, press fit bushing to help take up this slack and give any steering column less slop. Sometimes, the answer might be the least expensive option so if anyone feels like they have play between the steering wheel and steering box, this is one of the first places to look!

IMPORTANT NOTE:
  • The bushings should be installed only when the shaft is worn and wander is experienced. New intermediate shafts with no play may experience a resignated tone when collars are installed. Upon installing your new intermediate shaft bushings, some customers have experienced a variable "tone" of road and/or truck noise. You are  not eliminating the rubber bushings that Dodge/Ram have installed. You are simply controlling their movement for a more responsive feel.
