Description Overview
Eliminate the factory Intake Air Heater or IAH with this Driven Diesel Intake Air Heater Plug. This plug will also give you a convenient area to pull boost readings from and or add water methonal injection. The factory Air Intake Heater is located in the Cold Side Inlet of the intake manifold on the engine and blocks approximately 20% of the intake path. Since the heater is RARELY active due to the very specific circumstances under which the PCM enables it, many customers have removed it in and replaced it with a plug like this to improve air flow.

A billet aluminum plug that eliminates the factory Intake Air Heater and provides a port for boost readings or water/methanol injection.

Fits
1999.5-2003 7.3L Ford Powerstroke
Brand
Driven Diesel
Best for
Removing the factory Intake Air Heater and adding a boost or water/methanol port
Key features
  • Custom machined from billet aluminum
  • Black anodized finish for protection and appearance
  • Recessed 1/8" female NPT tapped port for boost gauge fitting or water/methanol nozzle
  • Black 1/8" NPT plug included
  • 1-1/8" hex size for easy installation
  • Optional quick disconnect fitting for standard 1/8" boost line
  • Available as part of a complete IAH Boost Gauge Install Kit
Key specs
  • 1/8" Female NPT port
  • 1-1/8" hex size
Important
The port has a tapered 1/8" female pipe thread; standard water/methanol nozzles have a straight thread and will NOT turn far enough in without modification. If used for a nozzle, the port must be tapped with a 1/8-27 NPT tap until the nozzle face is at least flush with the inside face of the plug, or spray pattern can be compromised and potentially damage the engine.

FEATURES & BENEFITS:
  • Custom Machined from Billet Aluminum
  • Black Anodized Finish for Protection and Appearance
  • Recessed 1/8" Female NPT Tapped Port(for use with either a boost gauge fitting or a water/methanol nozzle*)
  • Black 1/8" NPT Plug Included
  • 1-1/8" Hex Size for Easy Installation
  • Optional Quick Disconnect Fitting for Standard 1/8" Boost Line
  • Available as part of a complete "IAH Boost Gauge Install Kit"
IMPORTANT NOTE:
  • IMPORTANT WATER/METHANOL NOZZLE NOTE: This fitting has been tapped with a TAPERED 1/8" female pipe thread. Standard 1/8" NPT fittings (like those used for boost gauges) will fit perfectly. The Water/Methanol nozzles that we have tested have a straight thread and will NOT turn far enough into the IAH fitting without modification. If you wish to use the IAH Plug for a Water/Methanol nozzle location, you will need to carefully tap the port with a 1/8-27 NPT tap UNTIL THE NOZZLE FACE IS AT LEAST FLUSH WITH THE INSIDE FACE OF THE IAH PLUG. If the nozzle face is left recessed into the threaded port, the spray from the nozzle can hit the inside of the port and significantly compromise the spray pattern of the water system (potentially causing a "flooding" scenario that could damage the engine).
About Driven Diesel

Driven Diesel, the manufacturing side of the highly accredited Strictly Diesel, is widely known for producing quality, first to market, diesel performance and maintenance products, specializing in Ford Powerstrokes. Dennis Schroeder and Nate Brekken, co-owners of Strictly Diesel, came together in 2010 in order to merge two companies with a common goal. Previously, Dennis owned ITP Diesel that was notorious for producing regulated return fuel kits for Powerstrokes and other specialty performance products while Nate owned Strictly Diesel, which at the time focused on quality, local service and repair work. The two continually collaborated between one another so it was only natural to combine the two companies into what it is now. While many know the Regulated Return Kits, Fuel Filter Kits, Electric Fuel Pump Kits, etc. as Strictly Diesel products, technically they are derived from the manufacturing side of Strictly, known as Driven Diesel. Whichever name you have come to know their products as, you can be rest assured you will never find a "copy-cat" product with their name on it and they have put their own blood, sweat, and tears into every finite detail. These are not "one size fits all" products, but truly tailored for each individual application and designed to serve a purpose and make your truck more reliable than the day it rolled off the assembly line.
