Take control of the operating temperature of your 5.9L or 6.7L Cummins with this Fan Clutch Accelerator Switch from Driven Diesel. When enabled, the Fan Clutch Accelerator will cause your ECM to think that your Engine Coolant Temperature has increased, thereby causing your ECM to command more fan speed from the clutch. When disabled, the ECM will see the correct temperature from the coolant temperature sensor, and operate the fan normally. This product is designed to be used "AS NEEDED", leaving it enabled all the time will result in running the engine fan excessively, causing more engine noise, lower fuel economy and a reduction in power. If you have experienced situations where your truck and load are causing coolant and oil temperatures to rise, but you aren't hearing your fan engage to aid in cooling, this is your answer.

IMPORTANT NOTE:
  • Will NOT work on 2003-2007 Automatic Transmission Trucks
  • When enabled, your dash gauge and/or digital monitor will reflect a higher than actual Engine Coolant Temperature. In order to see the actual coolant temperature, the Fan Clutch Accelerator must be in the OFF position.
  • Installation and use of the Fan Clutch Accelerator Switch WILL NOT resolve problems with a weak or worn out fan clutch. Proper performance of this product requires a correctly functioning fan clutch.

Fan Clutch Switch

"Purchased the switch and the installation was pretty straight forward. I’ve driven my vehicle in 90 degree weather and the switch works as indicated. My only complaint is the simple toggle switch that came attached to the wiring harness has much to be desired. It is super small and frail looking. Everything on my 3500 is heavy duty and now I”m stuck with this ugly switch! For $250, would have expected a better off/on switch."

"Installation was straight forward, Haven’t towed with it yet, but took a test drive and fan engages when switch is flipped. Had to turn off defueling on programmer for high coolant temp, but I anticipated this when purchasing switch."

i just want to verify this will work on 2018 Ram 6.7L Cummins with an automatic transmission?

How many degrees does it bump the ecm reading for the water temp?
The reports we've seen are 30-40 degree increase.
So this will work on 2012 Auto trucks?

Does this come with a instruction sheet
This kit does not come with instructions, it just plugs inline to your coolant temp sensor.
Can this be tied into the OEM upfitter switches on the dash? I have a 2016.
This kit was not originally designed to adapt to factory up-fitter switches. The kit comes with a 2 position switch. Customization would be required to ensure that works. -Mark
