Description
The factory thermostat housing is a complete joke. There, we went and said it. Its made of thin stamped steel that does not maintain its intended shape, causing leaks. Upgrade your OBS with this billet thermostat housing and included heavy duty hose kit. This molded rubber hose replaces the upper radiator hose on the 1995.5-1997 Ford 7.3L and is shaped specifically for use with DieselSite's included billet thermostat housing. Made in the USA of high temperature silicon rubber, this should be the last one of these radiator hoses you ever buy for your truck. IMPORTANT NOTES: This new hose routes very close to the drive belt if you are not careful in your installation. The tip is to install the end on the thermostat housing first. Do not tighten the clamp yet. If the hose looks like it will hit the drive belt, rotate the hose clockwise a few degrees at a time until the hose clears the belt. Connect the other end on the radiator and check belt clearance again. Tighten clamps. Many 1994-1995 7.3L Powerstrokes came equipped with IDI cooling systems. If you have a steel radiator and the cap is on the radiator, this kit will not work. You must have the later cooling system with the plastic expansion tank with the plastic radiator cap in the expansion tank. Will not work with Ford RH110 1994-1997 OEM thermostat housing.

Solved an issue, may create another.

"Bought this for my 97 with the 205 mishimoto tstat. I had an oem housing that was warped, and this seemed like the last housing I would need to buy and solve this leak issue once and for all. And it did, install was super simple, really niece billet housing. The issue is the upper hose, it doesn't fit for crap. I really don't see any reason for it not to fit perfectly for as long as these have been on the market, and cost as much as it does for the fitment issues, but you really have to fight the hose and almost kink it to get it to sit without rubbing the belt, and it still rubs the ac compressor mount. It's not even close to the oem spec with its bends at all, just a terrible lay out job. This kit did fix my leak, the billet housing is awesome, but the hose fitment is just downright terrible. Make a nicer fitting hose and it would be 5 stars no problem."

Great addition

"Added the 203 Deg. Thermostat and decided since it was torn down to add the billet housing and hose assembly l. Fit like a glove with no leaks or hose trimming."
