Description
Regarding the 1st Gen (1989-1993) Cummins, there are very few (if any) options for a bolt-in turbo upgrade. To make it more confusing, the early 1st Gens, specifically the 1989-1991 models, did not come from the factory with an intercooler, whereas the 1991.5-1993 did. This affects the turbo since the discharge must align with the intercooler instead of coming up and over the valve covers.Next, regarding the 2nd Gens (1994-2002) there's often confusion as to which turbo was REALLY the original equipment on these models. Some argue that it was the Holset HX35, others would say it was the HY35. Well, we're here to tell you it was BOTH. For those with a 1994-1999 model year, you would have the HX35, and if you have a 2000-2002 with a manual transmissions, then you also have an HX35. But if you have a 2000-2002 with an automatic transmission, then these trucks came with an HY35. Okay, so what's the difference? The biggest difference between the two is that the HY35's have a 9cm turbine (exhaust) housing, whereas the HX35's have a 12cm housing. The benefit of the smaller housing found on the HY35's is that they spool lightning fast in comparison to the HX35's, but the HX35's can outflow an HY35. Okay, so now that we're all on the same page, how do you get this same lightning-fast spool up that comes from a 9cm housing, but flows enough air to support up to 500 rear wheel horsepower? Easy, upgrade with a Stealth 60 Towing Turbo! This turbo is a true, bolt-on, upgraded turbo that with proper supporting modifications, will allow for horsepower levels up to 500 RWHP. This turbo includes turbine discharges for both 1st Gen and 2nd Gen Cummins to allow for an easy installation to your existing exhaust downpipe.Impressively quick spool-up, this is a great turbo for daily driving and towing. The turbo features a custom profile, 7-blade, billet wheel perfectly mapped to a modified compressor cover, and custom high-flow turbine inside of a tight 9cm housing. If you want streetable power for towing and daily driving out of a single turbo, this is your best option. This truck works perfectly with stock, or near-stock injectors and high-pressure fuel pumps. It can even be installed with the stock transmission or clutch. IMPORTANT NOTE - For 91.5-93 trucks, this turbo only works if the truck has an intercooler.

great turbo

"Easy drop in, however my oil return tube had to be modified because the outlet to the intercooler would not allow the return tube to mount to the turbo. With a little help from a torch and some careful massaging I was able to get that squared away. Turbo works great, my son loves the sound that thing makes while your shifting through gears. DPP is the best, the only company I buy my parts from."

Q&A

What’s the Max psi that can make?
Max usable psi would be about 36 psi, any more then that and you are pumping hot hair and not making any more power. -Sands
