Feel like driving has become more like going to the gym? When upgrading to larger tires, the suspension of your truck can experience added stress, but using steering stabilizer shocks effectively minimizes the bump steer and feedback on the steering wheel. Looking to keep your suspension and steering in good condition? Add a BDS Dual Steering Stabilizer Mounting Kit to smooth out those rough patches and keep wear and tear off your steering system. The mounting brackets from BDS are made of high-strength steel and can be easily attached so this kit is ready to start and will last.
There are two types of steering found on heavy duty Rams, commonly
referred to as either T-Style or Y-Style. First and foremost, for owners
of 2008.5-2013 Rams, these trucks all came from the factory with
T-Style steering. However, for 2003-2008 owners, you could have either.
These trucks came from the factory with Y-Style, but many were converted
to T-Style. This stabilizer ONLY works on T-Style Steering.
If
you are unsure of what steering you have, the easiest way to determine
is to look at the mounting of the existing stabilizer. If it mounts to
the centerlink (bar that goes horizontally wheel to wheel) through a
hole in the centerlink, then you have the older Y-Style steering. If you
have a plate with two u-bolts, then you have the newer, T-Style. If you
have any questions, feel free to give us a call.
NX2 SHOCKS
The BDS NX2 Stabilizer uses a pressurized nitrogen-charged twin-tube design with 10-stage velocity-sensitive valving for lightning-fast dampening adaptive to whatever terrain you traverse on- or off-road. The 2-inch bodied shocks use a large 1-3/8-inch fluon-banded piston, self-lubricating seals, and a 14mm hardened chrome shaft to help resist rock chips and corrosion.
