In some cases, when replacing a turbocharger in your Ram 6.7L Cummins, you will find a cracked exhaust manifold. The heat cycles that the manifold is exposed to and its one-piece design create extra stress in between the exhaust ports that can eventually lead to cracks. The BD Screamer and Exhaust Manifold Package takes care of two problems with one convenient package. SCREAMER TURBO:There are numerous turbo upgrades on the market for 6.7L Cummins. However, the majority of these upgraded turbos require you to eliminate the factory VGT (Variable Geometry Turbo) in favor of a non-VGT, also requiring a different exhaust manifold, and numerous other items to make the conversion. In doing so, you also lose your factory exhaust brake. While these upgraded turbos are an excellent upgrade for those looking to make big power or eliminate the VGT for various reasons, for most, its simply not necessary or feasible. If you're like many and just want a good, reliable turbo that you can literally drop in place of the original and get a big boost in performance, this Screamer Turbo from BD is your answer.Featuring an upgraded 64.5mm Ballistic Compressor Wheel and Low MOI (Moment of Inertia) 70mm Quick Spool 12 Blade Turbine Wheel, you'll see a huge gain in airflow which equates to more power, lower temperatures, and better fuel economy. Further, it features a brand new, factory Holset VGT actuator. BD DIESEL PERFORMANCE

Originally founded in 1972 as Valley Fuel Injection that specialized in fuel injection rebuilding and calibrating, BD Diesel gained the most notoriety beginning in 1989 with the release of their first exhaust brake designed for Ram trucks with the acclaimed 12 Valve Cummins engine. BD would later rename Valley Fuel Injection to BD Diesel Truck Service and Performance Center that operates as an extension to BD Diesel Performance. Today, they operate out of a 65,000 square foot facility in Abbotsford, British Columbia and employ over 100 highly skilled individuals. They are constantly pushing the envelope with forward thinking products that not only fill voids in the marketplace, but also take existing products and push them to the next level.

BD DIESEL TRANSMISSION UPGRADES

Transmissions have a singular but ambitious challenge - to transfer all the torque from the diesel engine to the drive wheels. This must be accomplished while maintaining shift quality and minimizing NVH (Noise, Vibration, and Harshness). With stock or OE configurations, this capacity challenge is somewhat less than extraordinary. Comparatively, a high output diesel that develops 2-4 times the original engine torque and keeping stellar driving characteristics at this power level becomes a new feat. Utilizing the latest technology in CAD and FEA simulation, BD can predict and eliminate failures before they happen. The dedicated team of BDs Transmission and Torque Convertor Department are true experts in the development and analysis of the diesel transmission.

BD EXHAUST BRAKES

BD built its reputation on exhaust brakes starting in the early 90's with many casting designs for both engine and remote mount air actuated systems. Rugged cast-iron bodies with an offset stainless steel butterfly build peak efficiency quickly.

Owing to its heritage as a diesel fuel systems specialist, BD Diesel Truck Service & Performance Center is a factory-certified Bosch, Stanadyne, Delphi and Zexel calibration and repair lab. They are one of a select few injection shops in North America to have Bosch Common Rail parts and an overhaul and testing franchise. BD Diesel rebuilds most all mechanical and electronically-controlled fuel pumps and injectors for diesel engine applications.

Turbo kit and air intake

"Took my ram to the dealership and they said my turbo was fine when it clearly wasn't everything failed at once on my stock one at 250k miles. So I ordered my own and they also said that my exhaust manifold was fine which had a giant Crack in it and they wouldnt replace. I haven't installed yet but I was astonished how quick I got my kit. I also needed a new intake system because of a blowout so I came right back to this company site and ordered a sb intake and I can't wait for it to get here."

"The BD screamer and Manifold went in nicely make sure to mount the manifold and all studs and gaskets before mounting turbo TRUST ME PLEASE do not bolt them together and try to install doesn’t work you’ll have to start over and PRIME YOUR TURBO! After the install the truck fired right up building 30+ psi of boost the exhaust brake is literally no joke it’s stronger than factory and BD recommends to leave it on forever lol there’s a noticeable difference in power/sound I have a 5 pos SOTF so far I’ve kept it in race tune for the lower end fueling it really is impressive and the truck runs better sounds better it really woke it up! I’ve read people have had so many issues. There’s always a bad egg in every million and the others are install errors because this thing screams and I have no codes the exhaust brake working fine even in cruise control I don’t have any issues 100% would recommend this turbo if you want to keep your VGT like I did I wrote this review on the turbo itself for others seeking information like I was before I bought it"

How does the screamer compare to the Cheetah? What are similarities and differences?
The Screamer and Cheetah will be very similar in spool up, boost levels, Hp rating and the only real difference is the warranty range is 1 year longer with the Cheetah.
