Description
Have you upgraded your L5P with a cold air intake, maybe a programmer, but looking for some more power and boost? The factory intercooler pipes on each side of your intercooler are a measly 2.5" diameter and built from a combination of plastic, rubber, and metal, making them highly susceptible to cracking, leaving you stranded on the side of the road. Banks massive 3.5" boost tubes are the largest on the market, flowing more air than stock. Smooth mandrel-bent tubes deliver more air to your engine while reducing boost pressure loss resulting in quicker turbo spool and more power. Made of high-quality aluminized steel, Banks Boost Tubes allow for a quicker turbo spool by improving boost pressure retention (increasing air density) between turbo, intercooler, and intake resulting in maximum horsepower. The Banks Tube Upgrade Kit works with the stock Duramax intake elbow and intercooler by using proprietary high-strength 5-ply silicone couplers and unique to the 2020-2024 model, a pair of billet aluminum cold-side adapters. These couplers for the intercooler connection and the throttle body openings, are specially made for the airflow requirements on the L5P and feature a venturi-like taper on their inside diameter maintaining boost pressure and volumetric flow. INDUCTION PERFECTIONRevised for the 2020-2025 L5P, Banks Power has looked at the new design restrictions and engineered an induction solution to fit it. Even with the new engine bay layout with even tighter fitment under the hood, Banks engineers were still able to maintain a full 3.5" diameter on both the hot and cold side of their boost tubes. GOING THE EXTRA MILEWith the release of the 2020 L5P platform, GM has revised, moved, and updated several components throughout the engine bay. This includes not only the routing of the charge air pipes, but also material construction and connection mechanisms. Banks' 2020-2024 L5P Boost Tubes now feature a tapered billet coupler and quick connect on both ends of the pipe. No other manufacturer of intercooler pipes use this method of mounting. Banks engineers used CFD simulations to design the perfect taper and unique double parabolic shape on both ends to maximize airflow and reduce turbulence at the connection points. When you engineer the largest intercooler pipes out there, you have to make sure they connect properly and install easily too. DO IT RIGHTFor the 2020-2025 L5P, GM decided to go with a near full rubber hose design on the cold side. While this might make assembly easier at the GM plant in Ohio, the flex and swelling this hose provides leaves additional performance on the table. Banks boost tubes will never crack or dry out like the the rubber OEM Charge Air Pipes. Banks Boost Tubes are mandrel bent from aluminized stainless steel and designed to resist deformation from clamping force and other stresses for unparalleled durability and strength.

About Banks Power
BANKS POWER PRODUCTS

Established in 1958, Gale Banks Engineering has grown to 200+ employees on a 12-acre campus. The Mechanical Engineering Department, staffed with world-class automotive people, designs and tests the latest high performance equipment. Sophisticated electronic engineering technologies are applied to engine improvement in the rapidly growing Computer Systems Engineering Department. GBE designs turbocharged engines from the centerline of the crankshaft, out.

BANKS DIESEL PERFORMANCE IS UNDISPUTED

Gale Banks Engineering (Banks Performance) is one of the most trusted names in diesel performance and manufacturers arguably the highest quality diesel truck parts for our Cummins, Duramax, or Powerstroke diesel trucks with highly sophisticated and tested components from your airbox to the tailpipe, and everything in between. With products like the Ram-Air Intake System for your Cummins, Techni-Cooler Intercooler for your Power Stroke, Big Head Wastegate for your Duramax, High-Ram Intake Manifold for your Ecodiesel, and their extensive line of Monster Banks Exhaust systems to help your engine exhale, you’ll be sure that every last ounce of available airflow is being utilized. Further, Banks Power Products produces numerous diesel tuners and programmers, such as their Derringer, iQ, AutoMind, and EconoMind, and water methanol injection systems to not only produce additional horsepower, but lower exhaust gas temperatures (EGT’s) and increase fuel economy (MPG’s). And for those of us that would prefer to not source individual parts from numerous manufacturers, they deliver proven complete vehicle packages that are tested to perform at their pinnacle when used in conjunction with one another, such as their Big Hoss Bundles, PowerPacks, and Six-Gun Bundles.

Now, with all of this available horsepower, how are you going to get it to the ground? Don’t worry, they've got you covered with their highly acclaimed Billet Torque Converters featuring proven triple disc technology. To keep your newly found horsepower under control, Banks also manufactures a complete line of exhaust brakes. Available are both traditional inline mechanical exhaust brakes, as well as their line of SpeedBrakes that take advantage of the electronically controlled veins or sliding rings in newer variable geometry turbos (VGT) for both a simple installation and effective braking.

BANKS EXHAUST AT DPP!

Yes, Banks even manufactures their own line of exhaust systems and components that work just as well when included in one of their complete power packages as they do when installed independently. One thing that really sets Banks exhaust systems apart from the rest of the competition, is the fact they are wheelbase specific. While every other manufacturer designs their kits for all wheelbases, and essentially relies on you either cutting or excluding a piece for a shorter application (such as a crew cab, short bed), Banks has specific part numbers for each configuration to reduce installation time.

Wow, what DON’T they do? Well, they don’t fail, they don’t produce cheap knock off parts, and they don’t let the competition finish ahead of them, that’s what Banks DOESN’T do!

BANKS PROJECTS

While having the ability to produce world class performance parts is one thing, putting your money where your mouth is could be on an entirely different level, and that's exactly what Gale Banks is known for. Time and again, they've proven their design, engineering and manufacturing prowess in whole vehicle development/modification, including Project Sidewinder, Banks GMC Syclone, and the big block twin-turbo Pontiac Firebird. And in order to provide testament to the capabilities of such vehicles, you are likely to find Gale Banks himself on the Bonneville Salt Flats setting a new land speed record, or on site with the military refining the engines that they specifically build for their Oshkosh JLTV vehicles. So yeah, you can rest assured that Banks has used, abused, and attempted to find the limits of every one of their products.
