Description
The factory dipstick / oil fill tube on the early Ford HD transmissions (1989-2010 model years) are a press in type that depend on a Teflon coating to seal and keep the transmission fluid in. Often times the Teflon coating does not seal entirely and results in a fluid leak. ATS made this two piece tube that utilizes oil resistant o-ring seals that will insure a leak free seal. This product also allows for a simple removal that allows you to remove the lower part of the dipstick / oil fill tube from the transmission case while the transmission is in place. Replacing the factory tube requires removing the transmission, the ATS repair tube does not require removing the transmission making the repair only a 20 minute replacement versus a 5 hour repair.Whether you are removing your transmission or if you are trying to fix your leaking dipstick / oil fill tube, this ATS product will give you the peace of mind that your transmission has the best components possible.

ATS DIESEL TRANSMISSIONSClint Cannon and Ranee Elder founded Automotive Transmission Specialists in 1993. At that time, the company specialized in transmission repair for all types of vehicles. In 1997, the company "Performance Torque Converters" was founded, and they started doing torque converter rebuilds in-house. Bringing the capability of building torque converters in-house gave them more flexibility to service their racing customers. As the popularity of diesel trucks grew and more people became aware of the power upgrades available for their diesels, problems with diesel transmissions emerged.
Clint started research and development into a more robust torque converter to address the transmission issues. It was discovered that a clutch pack design was the answer to providing a robust torque converter. The development of the TripleLok Torque Converter and the company's focus on Diesel Performance products resulted in a rename of the company to ATS Diesel Performance.
By having their foot in the door before most, it allowed ATS Diesels transmission upgrades to grow with the demands of diesel trucks, putting them at the forefront of reliability. Fortunately for us, Clint didn't stop with transmissions and began to explore and refine upgraded turbochargers, intake and exhaust manifolds, and anything else to generate additional power with the ever-present mindset of maintaining powertrain reliability.

- Is this the total length of the old dipstick fill tube for a 99 f350 powerstroke truck. I understand it doesn't come with a dipstick. My question is how long is item you are selling. Does it require to purchase some more tube. By looking at the picture it looks like this part is approx 6" to 8" in length. If that is the case where do I purchase the remainder. Just got my truck and it doesn't have an upper tube or dipstick. I know I have to buy dipstick individually. I like the looks of product I just want to make sure taking care of my issues. Any help will be appreciated Tha ks
- You would correct on the length of the ATS Dipstick kit. The upper tube is different depending on the year range of the truck. 94-97: (Dorman) 917-425 99-03: XC3Z-7A228-AA Going to the parts store and asking for the upper transmission dip stick tube if you are trying to source it locally. -Mark
