Description
If you're trying to install a tachometer into your early 1st Generation Cummins, then you will need this simple tach installation kit to go along with your tach. In order to install, you'll use the included glue to secure the two magnets to your vibration dampener, then use an oil pan bolt to mount the sensor. This kit is NOT designed for use on the intercooler 1991.5-1993 Ram trucks.

- Well this work with a autometer tach ...the tach came with the alternator sensor but I wanting something cleaner looking
- It will not, from my understanding that sensor for the alternator measures the magnetic field of the alternator as it gets stronger or weaker. This kit will not provide that same signal. -Sands
- have a 1999 that am swaping in a 12 valve need a cam sensor to make tack work

- I have a 6.2 chevy diesel. Im putting a factory tach from like a c50 or c60 in my pickup. I didn't wanna off the alternator so i bought a oil pump drive rpm sensor. Gm part number is 7849305. Im trying to wire it up but im not for sure how. The reason is, is that the sensor is a 2 connector and the tach has 3 connectors. One for ground the other ones are coil and 12v. I was told the rpm sensor put ac voltage and the tach read dc voltage and i needed a ac to dc converter.
