XDP's Gear Reduction Starters are faster, stronger, and more durable than your factory starter. This gives you the ability to turn over even the most aggressive diesel engines.
XDP's Gear Reduction Starters feature a smaller motor that is faster, more efficient, and draws less amperage. The Gear Reduction Design produces more torque than a factory unit, at about a third of the size. This not only reduces weight, but also makes a more compact design for easier installation. Each starter comes pre-tested, ready for installation and features a durable "Wrinkle Black" finish for corrosion resistance and aesthetics.

"It's a great starter out of the box!!! I live where it gets very cold every year and it made buying a starter a yearly expense. Install was a breeze, just a 3/8 drive rachet with a 8in extension and a 13mm socket to get the old one out, 5/8 stubby open end for the power stud and a 5/16 for the ground stud. The smaller size makes install easier than before and gives more room for large hands to manouver around. After the truck sitting for a week, it cranked over in under a second. After about a week of starts I checked to see if I needed to re-torque the bolts and found I did. I put thin lock washers and re-torqued. It's been about two weeks now and haven't needed to re tighten anything"

- Why does this starter only have a 1 year warranty. Most of the aftermarket parts suppliers provide lifetime warranty at a lower price point. Seems if one pays a bunch more product support (warranty) should also be representative. Thank you,
- When it only cost them 10 dollars to make it they can replace quite a few before you get tired of replacing them. Or until one sticks. This is going to be a much higher quality of starter then your standard parts store remans. DppSands
