A Good Kit
"I purchased this as I had a failed glow plug on my 2006 LBZ that has 110,000 miles on it and I was worried that I might have problems removing the old glow plugs given the time an mileage. I have read the horror stories about breaking off glow plugs in the head and did not want that to happen to me! I thought that having the tool in advance of doing the job made the most sense given that the cost was not that high and that it includes an air hammer that can be used for other things as well. As luck would have it, all of my glow plugs came out smoothly using only a 1/4" drive ratchet so I did not need to use the Merchant Glow Plug Removal Tool. That said, the kit includes an air hammer, special fitting to go into the air hammer that has a 3/8" drive on it and hex flats that you can turn with an open end wrench as well as a 12 mm socket with a step in it to contact the hex head of the glow plug and apply the force from the hammer. Although I did not need the tool, I will be able to use the air hammer on its own, and there may be times that I will trying to remove frozen fasteners that it will likely work well on. Overall quality looks good. For me, it was worth having in case I needed it as my truck can't be parked while waiting for a tool to be shipped."

- Does this have adjustable torque like the sykes-pickavant 085900v2-vibro-impact, or is it just impact with one torque? if only one, is it <=40Nm?
- No this will be a one speed style air hammer. -Mark
- Will this tool work with Isuzu 5.2 diesel?
- If the glow plugs use a 12mm Hex it should work just fine. I'm not sure on that part though you will have to take a look at your glow plugs. -Sands
