Description
In case you haven't checked out your stock engine oil pan, it features a large convex hump protruding from it. While this wouldn't necessarily be a major problem, they installed the drain plug ABOVE this hump, meaning that anytime you dump your old oil, you're not able to completely drain the pan of all of its contents unless you remove the entire pan. Overall, its a design flaw that's been recurring for years, but fortunately, PPE has a solution! The PPE Extra Capacity Engine Oil Pan not only features a flat base to eliminate the issues with the stock pan, but it also has numerous other benefits. First and foremost, the pan is built from cast aluminum that will dissipate heat substantially better than the stock stamped steel version. Secondly, the base of the pan is finned, which again, aids in heat dissipation. And finally, a stainless steel drain plug featuring a heavy duty magnet is included that will ensure that any shavings will remain on the plug until your next oil change. This pan will add 1 additional quart to the overall oil capacity.

Great replacement for the factory pan

"Bought because the factory pan held a half quart of dirty oil after draining. This pan holds a quart more and the thick lip prevents warping if screwed down too tight. Shipping was fast and the price was good."

Looks clean and does in

"Looks clean and does in fact drain all your oil. Easy install, just make sure you disconnect the transmission lines next it if you have large hands, it makes installation much easier!"

Jacob C. (5/5)

Oil pan

"Over all a good product, only thing I wish was changed was the bolt heads. The heads strip out at about 70 ft lbs and they are rated for over 100. I would suggest a 8mm or 10mm head, otherwise a great product!"

Garet W. (5/5)

Good Choice

"Product is well made, looks and cleans up well. Appears I made a good choice, time will tell."

Fit where needed

"The shipped time was fast, it arrived within a few days. The quality was definitely noticed over my factory oil pan. I’m not fully convinced that this product lowered my operating temperatures because my truck still runs at 210 once warmed up; it might absorb more heat with the extra quart of oil because sometimes I shut off the truck and come back within a hour and the temperature has fallen a little more than the factory set up. I’m still happy, it fixed my problem a stripped drain plug and a oil pan gasket leak."

Joshua H. (5/5)

AA+

"Had a leaking gasket so I decided to upgrade the oil pan. The factory pan was kind of a beast to remove without damaging the upper pan but it's not a big deal if you take your time. The new pan is not even comparable to the cheep sheet metal pos that came stock. Highly recommended for the price, fitment and quality. It looks good too but I only see it when I do an oil change."

Thomas I. (5/5)

Excellent way to fix oem design flaw

"Since the LML has a concave oil plan, this corrects that, and increases capacity. I am going to install this on my truck later this week."

Apersondek (5/5)

Looks great. Superior to stock

"Looks great. Superior to stock oil pan. Love the fact that the truck now holds an additional quart of oil ."

Jim A. (5/5)

PPE Oil Pan (Extra Cap)

"Awesome product. Really like the idea that you actually drain almost all of the oil using this pan, as opposed to the OEM one - where it only drains maybe about 75%. Additionally a lot bulkier and has some cooling design built in, which is nice. Little tricky and wish they advised about some additional work you'll have to do during install like swapping out components from the OEM but whatever."

Joey (5/5)

Came quickly, complete and looks

"Came quickly, complete and looks as tough as the truck it supports."
