Description
Constructed from high-quality cast aluminum right here in the USA, this differential cover from Mag-Hytec keeps your differential remarkably cooler than your stock cover. This dramatic increase in heat dissipation happens for three reasons: First, the cast aluminum deals with heat in a vastly better manner than the stock steel pan. Second, Mag-Hytec designed the cover with external cooling fins to get rid of heat fast. Third, this cover holds more fluid than stock. Cool, dense fluid is always a good way to keep temperatures under control. The combination of cooling fins and additional fluid make for an exceptional upgrade to protect your differential.
Mag-Hytec also made sure this cover comes with a host of other features. To keep your fluid clean, the cover comes standard with a magnetic drain plug--designed to pull harmful ferrous metal particles right out of the oil long before they have any chance of hurting your differential. Next, the cover features a pre-tapped 1/8 NPT port for those who wish to install a temperature probe--capped with a stainless steel plug when not in use. Finally, an o-ring is used to seal the cover instead of messy sealant and gaskets. This cover allows you to drive your truck hard without fear of heat damage!
IMPORTANT NOTE:
This cover works perfectly on 90% of Dodge Trucks. Due to stack tolerances differing from one truck to the next, some modification could be required to clear all steering components. Be extra attentive to fitment and clearance prior to install.

"Obviously this diff cover looks great on the front end, holds more oil, stays cooler, with fill and drain plugs. Be sure to buy a 3/8 drive 6mm Allen to torque the new bolts down if you don't have one, the stock bolts are too short for the new cover. I had no clearance issues with my '12 3500, but it was everything I could do to tighten the top bolts without removing the track bar. Have fun! Lol"

"Well it's time for another review. Today I will post my review of the Mag-Hytec Front Differential cover for the AAM 14-9. 25 front axle. Well first things first, DPP got my order processed and out the door the same day and had my parts to me in just a couple days so 5 out of 5 stars on that. Price was square and came ready to install. Install is a breeze. Now there is some speculation on steering clearance but my 2006 Ram 3500 has the new "T" style linkages and we had plenty of clearance in full lock to lock condition. Now I have a different steering stabilizer set up so your application may vary. Finish and machine work on this thing is spot on. Kit includes all new mounting hardware (even a couple extra Allen bolts) and easy to follow instructions (not that you need them, but hey maybe some people do). I have the rear one already installed so it's a good looking match set. Now the only discrepancy I have is the add says it's an O ring style seal, well that wasn't the case on my cover (at least not a true O ring like the rear was). It did come with a super nice O ring type gasket, but unlike the rear cover it did not have the machined grove in the cover. Now I have no problem with this and I highly doubt it affects the performance or durability, but I hold people to what their add says. . This cover holds about 3. 5 quarts of new fluid in all so plan on buying four for the install. In the end its an awesome piece, high quality machine work, fits great and is a true DIY project. Well worth the money."
