Description
Need more rear-end control and a smoother, more controlled ride out of your GM HD truck? The ICON 2.5 Rear Shock Set is built to replace the weak factory damping and deliver a much more composed, predictable feel in both loaded and unloaded driving conditions. Stock rear shocks on these trucks tend to fade quickly under heat and struggle to keep the rear end settled over rough roads, washboard terrain, or when towing. This setup tightens everything up, giving you better stability, improved traction, and a noticeably more planted ride. Built around ICON’s V.S. 2.5 aluminum shock platform, it uses a monotube design with a piggyback/remote reservoir system to increase oil capacity and reduce heat buildup under sustained use. This added thermal capacity helps prevent shock fade and keeps damping performance consistent during towing, off-road driving, or long highway runs. The design also includes ICON’s internal “bump zone,” which increases damping force as the shock approaches full compression to help prevent harsh bottom-outs. Each shock is fully rebuildable and revalveable, making it a long-term performance upgrade rather than a disposable component. Built with 6061 aluminum components, a hardened chrome shaft, and high-quality internal valving tuned specifically for GM applications, this setup is designed for durability, corrosion resistance, and consistent performance in demanding conditions. The result is a rear shock package that improves control, comfort, and confidence across daily driving, towing, and off-road use.

About ICON Vehicle Dynamics
ICON Vehicle Dynamics is a premiere performance suspension manufacturer specializing in aftermarket suspension components for trucks, SUVs and off road suspension development. The companys business is customer-driven, technology-influenced, engineering-oriented and focuses on world-class manufacturing processes and techniques. Led by head engineer and SCORE champion driver Dylan Evans, ICON Vehicle Dynamics has the unique qualities to design and build the highest quality suspension components and test them in both real world applications as well as race conditions.

ICON is often asked how they develop such revolutionary performance suspension systems. The answer might surprise you. Their engineers actually start by determining a desired outcome of the vehicle they are working on. By studying forces and their effect on the vehicle in motion (Vehicle Dynamics) they are able to determine what improvements can be made. They determine how they can improve drivability of the vehicle, how to improve the handling characteristics and what changes can be made to improve the vehicle in real world situations. The end result of all this study is the highest quality and performing suspension products in the world. What also sets ICON products apart is our incredible commitment of time and energy dedicated to both ride development and testing. From vehicle dynamic theory to our years of experience and involvement in off road racing, rock crawling and just about anything you can do with a vehicle on or off the road. ICON engineers are in control and the driving force of the entire product line and manufacturing processes. This is made possible because all of their laser cutting, metal forming, CNC machining, welding and assembly is done in house.
