Description
Looking to get the rear of your GM HD truck under control without giving up ride quality? The ICON 2.5 Rear Shock Set is built to replace the weak factory rear damping and give you real control, whether the truck is empty, loaded, or towing. Stock rear shocks tend to fade quickly and can’t keep up with heat, weight, or rough road conditions, which leads to bounce, instability, and a loose-feeling rear end. This setup fixes that by delivering consistent damping and a much more planted, confident feel in all conditions. The real upgrade here is adjustability. With CDCV compression tuning, you can fine-tune how the rear suspension reacts depending on how you use your truck. Softer settings smooth out daily driving and washboard roads, while firmer settings help control squat and body motion when towing or hauling. The result is a rear end that feels controlled instead of unpredictable, no matter the load. Built around ICON’s V.S. 2.5 aluminum shock body, these shocks use a monotube design paired with a piggyback reservoir to increase oil capacity and improve heat dissipation. That added fluid volume helps prevent shock fade during long drives, heavy loads, or repeated suspension cycles, keeping performance consistent when the truck is working hard. Internally, it features ICON’s precision valving with a “bump zone” that increases damping force near full compression to help control bottom-outs and maintain stability under aggressive use. The CDCV adjuster gives multiple compression settings without opening the shock, while the aluminum body, hardened shaft, and rebuildable design ensure long-term durability and serviceability. It’s built for trucks that see real towing, hauling, and off-road use.

About ICON Vehicle Dynamics
ICON Vehicle Dynamics is a premiere performance suspension manufacturer specializing in aftermarket suspension components for trucks, SUVs and off road suspension development. The companys business is customer-driven, technology-influenced, engineering-oriented and focuses on world-class manufacturing processes and techniques. Led by head engineer and SCORE champion driver Dylan Evans, ICON Vehicle Dynamics has the unique qualities to design and build the highest quality suspension components and test them in both real world applications as well as race conditions.

ICON is often asked how they develop such revolutionary performance suspension systems. The answer might surprise you. Their engineers actually start by determining a desired outcome of the vehicle they are working on. By studying forces and their effect on the vehicle in motion (Vehicle Dynamics) they are able to determine what improvements can be made. They determine how they can improve drivability of the vehicle, how to improve the handling characteristics and what changes can be made to improve the vehicle in real world situations. The end result of all this study is the highest quality and performing suspension products in the world. What also sets ICON products apart is our incredible commitment of time and energy dedicated to both ride development and testing. From vehicle dynamic theory to our years of experience and involvement in off road racing, rock crawling and just about anything you can do with a vehicle on or off the road. ICON engineers are in control and the driving force of the entire product line and manufacturing processes. This is made possible because all of their laser cutting, metal forming, CNC machining, welding and assembly is done in house.
