The factory fuel filter housing on your L5P Duramax is built from plastic and can crack when overtightened. Upgrade your fuel system with this billet aluminum filter housing from HSM to ensure you'll never have to deal with a cracked or broken housing, plus, it looks pretty awesome, too!
This billet piece is substantially more durable, more reliable, and MUCH better looking compared to the stock plastic unit. CNC machined from a solid piece of billet aluminum, this housing is engineered and manufactured to fit and function like the factory housing (while being MUCH stronger) and also includes an integrated drain port. This housing is a direct replacement on the 2017 and newer 6.6L L5P Duramax and can be installed in just a few minutes.

It fit fine like it was supposed to, and was much easier to install. There is not a bottom internal support for the filter like in the OEM but it seems to function normally even without that."

"I had a selection of housing to choose from. Very pleased with the quality of this filter housing. Love the drain port on the bottom and that the instructions tell you what size “o” ring you will eventually need to replace the worn one. For some reason the filter had a bit of an issue fitting into the housing. Once installed under the truck is looked great in its new home. Was nice to tighten it into place and not worry if is was going to leak or break."

- That Fuel filter housing has (1) port on it that is 1/8th NPT
- The stock fuel filter housing allows the filter to lock into place. The billet replacement does not have the same piece to secure the filter. So long as the filter and housing are slid over the nipple protruding from the receiving end of the filter housing, does that mean it’s installed properly? Or is there something I’m missing?
- As long as the top portion of the fuel filter that seals to the receiving portion of the fuel filter housing you won't have any issues. -Mark
