All three options are premium DOT 4 fluids, but they are designed for different levels of use, ranging from everyday street driving to extreme motorsports. Choose the option that best matches how you use your vehicle and always verify that DOT 4 brake fluid meets your vehicle manufacturer's requirements. HP520 – Street Brake Fluid: The best choice for everyday street and performance driving. HP520 has a minimum dry boiling point of 500°F (260°C), giving it greater resistance to boiling when the brakes get hot. It's a practical upgrade for drivers who want dependable braking during normal driving as well as more demanding street use without stepping up to a dedicated racing fluid. HP600 – Race Brake Fluid: Designed for racing and other high-temperature braking environments where the brakes are repeatedly pushed hard. HP600 raises the minimum dry boiling point to 572°F (300°C) and has a minimum wet boiling point of 383°F (195°C), helping maintain predictable braking performance during demanding track and performance use. HP660 – Hi Temp Race Brake Fluid: Built for the most extreme motorsports applications, HP660 offers the highest dry boiling point of the three options at a minimum of 608°F (320°C), along with a minimum wet boiling point of 383°F (195°C). This is the option for vehicles exposed to exceptionally high brake temperatures where maximum resistance to fluid boiling is the priority. Important: All three options are DOT 4 brake fluid. Always check your vehicle manufacturer's recommended brake fluid specification and replacement interval before use. Brake fluid naturally absorbs moisture over time, which lowers its boiling point and can reduce braking performance. Hawk recommends checking street-driven vehicles seasonally and monitoring fluid levels every few months. For typical street use, replace the fluid every two years or according to the vehicle manufacturer's recommendation. Vehicles used for racing or track events should have the fluid checked before each event and replaced each season. Mixing brake fluids is not recommended, although DOT 3 and DOT 4 can be mixed in an emergency, the brake fluid should be replaced as soon as possible afterward.
