A heavy trailer can make even a capable truck feel rough when every bump, dip, and change in the road gets transferred through the hitch. The Gen-Y BOSS Torsion-Flex Adjustable Drop Hitch is designed to soften that connection using built-in rubber torsion arms that allow the truck and trailer to move more independently. This helps reduce bounce, sway, and harsh jolts for a smoother, more controlled towing experience. Gen-Y reports up to a 90% smoother ride compared to a rigid hitch, helping reduce the shock transferred to your truck, trailer, and cargo.
Unlike a standard rigid drop hitch, the BOSS combines its Torsion-Flex suspension with an adjustable design that helps you properly level your trailer. Each configuration includes a dual-ball mount with both 2-inch and 2-5/16-inch hitch balls, with select configurations also including a pintle lock. Built from heavy-duty steel and made in the USA, the BOSS is designed for heavy-duty towing and is tested to exceed SAE J684 weight-testing requirements.
To choose the right BOSS, start with Towing Capacity and select the 10K, 16K, 21K, or 32K configuration that meets the requirements of your towing setup. Next, choose Receiver Size / Drop. The receiver size must match your truck's receiver opening, while the drop option determines the hitch's available adjustment range for helping your trailer sit level. Available receiver sizes and drop options vary by towing capacity. Finally, choose your Hitch Option: Dual-Ball Mount includes the 2-inch and 2-5/16-inch balls, while Dual-Ball Mount & Pintle Lock adds a pintle lock for compatible lunette-ring trailers.
IMPORTANT NOTES:
- Before ordering, verify your receiver size, required drop height, towing capacity, and tongue weight.
- Never exceed the towing capacity or tongue weight rating of the lowest-rated component in your towing setup.
- When towing with a pintle ring, use the 2-5/16-inch ball rather than the 2-inch ball. The hitch is designed for lunette rings 1.5 inches or smaller.
- Three-inch receiver configurations are available only for select Ford vehicles manufactured after 2017.
- The BOSS is not rated for winching or side-load applications.
- Gen-Y lists an average break-in period of approximately 500 miles.
