Description
Easily install a fuel pressure gauge without having to install a into the fuel line with the Driven Diesel Fuel Pressure Adapter!This Fuel Pressure Adapter from Driven Diesel solves two issues when installing and running a fuel pressure gauge in your 6.0L. First of all, without this type of adapter, you would traditionally have to splice into your fuel line and install a "T" in order to gain access to the fuel pressure. Secondly, by separating the sending unit away from the direct stream of fuel, it will help to alleviate needle bounce that is most prevalent with electric fuel pressure gauges / sending units that is caused by the pump pulsations and the way the sending unit gains its readings, which are also pulsations on electric sending units.
The provided adapter fitting installs in place of the plug in the fuel filter bowl and the hose allows the sending unit to be located off the engine (away from heat and vibration). The sending unit can also be located lower than the filter bowl (allowing any air bubbles to migrate back up to the filter so they don't affect the pressure reading). Typically, your best option is to route the hose and sending unit behind the air box and battery tray near the drivers side of the engine compartment.

"This pressure adapter works as described and is useful to test the fuel pressure away from the engine and the cramped space of the test port. The only downside is the metric thread to standard hose adapter is too large and hits the fuel bowl housing. To fix this, I used a file to round down the fitting which got it to fit with no issues."

"Very quick and easy installation. Simply remove the boot at the intake elbow for a little room, remove the 6mm test port plug, and install the O-ring adapter. No grinding or clearancing needed. Fuel psi sender is now mounted out of harms way."
