Cool Hose Intake Hose 03-07 Dodge 5.9L Cummins
Description
5 minute install. Ships with clamps. Works with the stock air box and aftermarket air intake systems that use the stock intake hose.
The factory S-shaped hose between your air box and turbo is extremely restrictive. Besides the ribbed piping on each 90 degree corner that creates turbulence, the piece of hard plastic tubing between these two 90 degree bends is actually a muffler. These restrictions create a considerable disruption in the airflow as it is presented to the compressor wheel of your turbo. And just like a plane that encounters turbulence, this turbo turbulence slows the efficiency of your turbo.
The Cool Hose eliminates all of these issues! The hose features 6 layers of silicone webbing with an embedded stainless steel wire wrap for added strength. It insulates air flow from under cab heat while providing a smooth obstruction free path for intake air to travel to the turbo. Far superior other hard plastic or metal "torque tubes".

"Happy with my purchase. I installed the pipe in about 10 minutes along with a drop in K&N air filter. There seems to be more turbo whistle, but I really dont notice much with the exhaust so loud inside the cab. I still have the silencer ring in the turbo aswell so theres that. Looks decent compared to the stock pipe and between the K&N the cool hose and my MBRP 4" exhaust I definitely have a little more throttle response. I can feel it for sure. Fuel mileage definitely got worse since I've had the cool pipe installed but that's my fault seeing as I havent been able to stay out of whistle gear since I got it till yesterday when I started to get her dialed in. I opted for this cool hose because it seems to flow better than stock being streamlined inside. . . . and it's not metal with the ability to heat sink. Shouldve bought it when it first came out. Form over function. It may not be a cool looking full kit but it does the same thing while retaining the stock box. Thank you Diesel Power will be buying from you in the future!"
Q&A
- Are the cool blue hoses available in California. Do they require a CARB EO number? Or would it be better just to go with a CAI already carb approved, and if so what is your recommendation, especially dry filter style and cleanable if possible?
- Unfortunately, these are not going to be CARB approved, nor would any of the other options I have.
- Will this help my 06 that has the stock intake baffles already gutted?

- It does add airflow benefits over the stock accordion tube. Less heat transfer to the incoming intake air as well. -Sands
- Will this work with a s&d intake on a 2006 5.9 cummins
- It would not fit that intake, only stock intake boxes. If you have an S&B intake, that has a plastic tube going from the intake box to the turbo. You would not need something like the cool hose. -Sands
- I know the question has been asked if the cool hose will fit a 13+ 6.7 Cummins. But what about a 2012 6.7 Cummins running a 3rd Gen turbo and factory 2012 air intake? My factory intake tube fits the 3rd gen turbo so I would assume this cool tube will fit as well? I want to get rid of the intake tube but want to keep the factory airbox. Thank you
- It may fit on the turbo, but depending on the diameter of the outlet on the intake box is where you might run into the issue. The Cool hose is going to be 4in diameter on both sides. -Sands
