Description Overview
Especially when you're replacing your HPOP, there's no better time to replace the lines for increased durability and reliability plus add an HPX kit for more balanced oil flow. These replacement hoses are built from high quality Aeroquip hoses, featuring Dupont Teflon lining and also feature an increase in diameter to 3/8" for unrestricted oil flow. These lines are to replace the typical high mileage expensive OEM HPOP lines. Kit comes with two hoses and all of the necessary fittings. Hoses are up-sized to 3/8" featuring top-of-the-line Aeroquip hose utilizing DuPont teflon-lining with a burst pressure rating of 16,000psi and working temperature rating of 400 degrees Fahrenheit. Nominal working pressure is 5000psi at 72 degrees and 3000psi at 400 degrees. The HPX line connects the two heads to help balance the high pressure oil system in each head. It does not create more horsepower, but the majority of owners see a slight to significant decrease in engine idle noise. This is due to the helmholtz resonance that is created from the injectors firing so quickly, and the HPOP cannot react quick enough to balance/absorb on its own from back pressure spikes within the system. So when the tiny spikes happen, the HPX line sends the pressure back and forth through the heads instead of hammering on the pump itself. INSTALLATION NOTES: These line will route different than OEM. Driver side will route just like the 99-03 models, which means it will now route to the second oil galley port and go around the engine lifting eyelet. The passenger side line will arch slightly over the front fuel bowl lid. This will not hinder the removal of the fuel filter. The HPX line will route just like the 99-03 trucks also (which is the third set of oil galley ports back starting from the front of the vehicle) Pump Fitting Torque 28 ft/lbs. Head Fitting Torque 23 ft/lbs. Hose Ends Torque 21 ft/lbs. Remove the spring checks in the pump under the stock fittings
