BD's Pulse Exhaust Manifold Stops Cracks in their Tracks! Horsepower creates heat-pure and simple. On a high-output engine like the Dodge Cummins, high exhaust gas temperature (EGT) is enough to cause the stock exhaust manifold to crack. BD's new Pulse manifold is cast from high-silicon ductile iron which can withstand extremely high temperatures, as well as the additional weight created by bigger single or twin turbo systems. Using modern technology to ensure optimal internal geometry, this manifold's crafted precision slip joints allow the manifold to expand and contract so it bends not breaks under massive stress. This increases longevity due to reduced cyclic thermal fatigue. Of course, the Pulse wouldn't be a BD product if it didn't offer the benefit of improved performance. As its name would suggest, this manifold is pulse-tuned for more efficient combustion chamber evacuation and higher exhaust flow. The result is quicker turbo spool-up, reduced back pressure, more power, and better fuel economy. BD DIESEL PERFORMANCE

Originally founded in 1972 as Valley Fuel Injection that specialized in fuel injection rebuilding and calibrating, BD Diesel gained the most notoriety beginning in 1989 with the release of their first exhaust brake designed for Ram trucks with the acclaimed 12 Valve Cummins engine. BD would later rename Valley Fuel Injection to BD Diesel Truck Service and Performance Center that operates as an extension to BD Diesel Performance. Today, they operate out of a 65,000 square foot facility in Abbotsford, British Columbia and employ over 100 highly skilled individuals. They are constantly pushing the envelope with forward thinking products that not only fill voids in the marketplace, but also take existing products and push them to the next level.

BD DIESEL TRANSMISSION UPGRADES

Transmissions have a singular but ambitious challenge - to transfer all the torque from the diesel engine to the drive wheels. This must be accomplished while maintaining shift quality and minimizing NVH (Noise, Vibration, and Harshness). With stock or OE configurations, this capacity challenge is somewhat less than extraordinary. Comparatively, a high output diesel that develops 2-4 times the original engine torque and keeping stellar driving characteristics at this power level becomes a new feat. Utilizing the latest technology in CAD and FEA simulation, BD can predict and eliminate failures before they happen. The dedicated team of BDs Transmission and Torque Convertor Department are true experts in the development and analysis of the diesel transmission.

BD EXHAUST BRAKES

BD built its reputation on exhaust brakes starting in the early 90's with many casting designs for both engine and remote mount air actuated systems. Rugged cast-iron bodies with an offset stainless steel butterfly build peak efficiency quickly.

BD TURBO UPGRADES

The turbocharger industry is a special industry for BD and remains a key technological asset. When looking at BDs experienced staff, the majority of their key staff members have been developed in or around this technology. BD focuses on the customer's needs, whether it is fast turnaround, state of the art compressor wheels or turbine wheels, they look to deliver on the highest expectations. Using precision lathes, milling equipment, honing machines, and inspection CMMs your turbocharger is continuously graded to exceed the OEMs specifications.

BD FUELING UPGRADES

Owing to its heritage as a diesel fuel systems specialist, BD Diesel Truck Service & Performance Center is a factory-certified Bosch, Stanadyne, Delphi and Zexel calibration and repair lab. They are one of a select few injection shops in North America to have Bosch Common Rail parts and an overhaul and testing franchise. BD Diesel rebuilds most all mechanical and electronically-controlled fuel pumps and injectors for diesel engine applications.

No Complaints So far, 1000 miles

"I've had this manifold on my truck for about 1,000 miles & no complaints thus far. It did slightly leak around the joints when I first started it, but according to BD, this is normal & should seal up. I have not checked it again, so unsure if it is still slightly leaking. Installation was not too bad, even with bolts (not studs). The manifold I receieved, I could easily seperate the 3 seperate pieces (again, I guess this is normal according to BD). Since the 3 pieces were easily movable, I did the center section then the outers. Overall, I would buy it again! Only gave it 4 instead of 5 because the small leak."

gets the job done

"well at first I loved this product. originally bought this due to doing a whole top end rebuild and my stock manifold had seen better days was warped and cracked. ended up getting this one seems like it flows really good love that it has pyro ports and expansion joints but my biggest con to this is the looks after having it on the truck for around a year is extremely rusty looking not black anymore. looking at the product description doesn't say anything about being painted or coated. so with that that said little disappointed as I will be buying a different one to look better on the truck, due to trying to build a show quality truck , but as i said it gets the job done but could use improvement"

"Bought this since I was doing bigger injectors and a new turbo for my first gen cummins, easy install and so nice to have the pyrometer port already there and ready to go. This is a must if your doing bigger injectors since the stock manifold is prone to cracks with more heat. Love DPP they always have what I need to keep my old truck going."

Is this manifold a t3 flange?
Thanks for asking, yes this is a T3 flange.
Does this kit come with new turbo mounting studs/bolts?
No, this manifold kit does not include turbo mounting studs.
Does it come with a gasket for the turbo?
You just have to select "Add gasket kit" and yes it will come with the turbo mounting gasket.
How do i remove the caps in the drilled hole for my pyrometer?
There are 2 1/8" NPT ports in this exhaust manifold for sensors. These can usually be filled with a Pyrometer probe and and exhaust back pressure hose/sensor. These will have allen head plugs that come with the exhaust manifold. -Mark
Is it ok to drill this for an egt temp sensor
It is already drilled and tapped with 2 ports right by the turbo flange for 1/8npt sensors. -Sands
