BD E-PAS Electronic Emergency Engine Shutdown 08-10 6.4L Ford Powerstroke
Description
Some industries, such as mining, oil refinery, forestry, mobile welding, septic removal, and refueling require vehicles to have an emergency engine shutdown in place. The most effective method for this is to cut the air supply on a diesel engine, causing fuel ignition to cease. In the past, this was done by installing a butterfly valve into the cold air side of the engine, which was typically costly and time consuming. No longer with the release of the E-PAS from BD!
Most late model diesel engines incorporate an electronic throttle body, or throttle control valve, into the intake manifold to partially restrict intake air to aid in EGR function and meet ever increasing emissions standards. When controlled correctly, this valve can completely shut off the outside air supply to the engine. The BD Electronic Positive Air Shutdown kit connects to this valve to shut the engine down in emergency situations.
The BD Electronic PAS will automatically shut off the engine if it exceeds a preset engine RPM or if toggled manually with the supplied switch. The BD module also has an automatic reset feature which will reopen the valve once the engine has stopped. No longer does the operator need to open the hood to reset the valve after a system test.
The E-PAS is much simpler to install than previous, traditional style PAS products as it is completely plug and play with existing parts on the vehicle.

BD DIESEL TRANSMISSION UPGRADESTransmissions have a singular but ambitious challenge - to transfer all the torque from the diesel engine to the drive wheels. This must be accomplished while maintaining shift quality and minimizing NVH (Noise, Vibration, and Harshness). With stock or OE configurations, this capacity challenge is somewhat less than extraordinary. Comparatively, a high output diesel that develops 2-4 times the original engine torque and keeping stellar driving characteristics at this power level becomes a new feat. Utilizing the latest technology in CAD and FEA simulation, BD can predict and eliminate failures before they happen. BD EXHAUST BRAKESBD built its reputation on exhaust brakes starting in the early 90's with many casting designs for both engine and remote mount air actuated systems. Rugged cast-iron bodies with an offset stainless steel butterfly build peak efficiency quickly.
BD TURBO UPGRADESThe turbocharger industry is a special industry for BD and remains a key technological asset. When looking at BDs experienced staff, the majority of their key staff members have been developed in or around this technology. BD FUELING UPGRADESOwing to its heritage as a diesel fuel systems specialist, BD Diesel Truck Service & Performance Center is a factory-certified Bosch, Stanadyne, Delphi and Zexel calibration and repair lab. They are one of a select few injection shops in North America to have Bosch Common Rail parts and an overhaul and testing franchise. BD Diesel rebuilds most all mechanical and electronically-controlled fuel pumps and injectors for diesel engine applications.
