Whether you're replacing stock injectors or building a higher-output truck, the BBI Injectors High-Line New Performance Injector Set offers six stage options for the 2003–early 2004 Dodge Ram 5.9L Cummins MY03 application. Each set contains six completely new injectors calibrated and matched within a 2% fuel-flow tolerance. The injectors are measured and adjusted across their operating range, and a BBi test sheet documenting injection quantities is included. No core charge or core return is required.
Stage 0.1 (MY03-S0.1): Is designed for owners replacing their stock injectors who want a slight increase in fueling. It retains the Bosch OEM VCO nozzle and uses a slightly longer hydraulic injection duration to deliver approximately 4% more injection quantity than stock. This is the mildest option in this listing.
Stage 0.5 (MY03-S0.5): is the towing-focused option. Its nozzles flow 78 liters per hour at 100 bar, a 30% increase in nozzle flow over stock, but the injector calibration delivers less fuel than Stage 1. At BBi's stated full-load test conditions of 1,600 bar and 1,700 microseconds, injection quantity is approximately 150 mm³ compared with 125 mm³ for stock and 165 mm³ for Stage 1. Stage 0.5 and Stage 1 share the same nozzle flow rating, but their different calibrations give them different fueling characteristics.
Stage 1 (MY03-S1): Uses nozzles that flow 78 liters per hour at 100 bar, a 30% increase over stock. BBi rates this stage as capable of supporting up to 700 rear-wheel horsepower with suitable supporting equipment and tuning. Fuel delivery can be reduced through compatible aftermarket tuning to match a lower-output setup.
Stage 2 (MY03-S2): increases nozzle flow to 103 liters per hour at 100 bar, approximately 72% above stock. BBi rates this stage as capable of supporting up to 1,000 rear-wheel horsepower. Dual high-pressure CP3 pumps are required to reach that output, and twin turbochargers are recommended. BBi also describes use at lower output levels with reduced fueling through Smarty tuning; the truck's supporting equipment and calibration must match the intended power level.
Stage 3 (MY03-S3): uses nozzles that flow 120 liters per hour at 100 bar, a 100% increase over stock. BBi describes this stage as capable of supporting more than 1,000 rear-wheel horsepower. Dual high-pressure CP3 pumps are required, and BBi specifies that these injectors should only be used with twin turbochargers.
Stage 4 (MY03-S4): is intended for extreme competition projects only. It combines 144-liter-per-hour nozzle flow at 100 bar with modified injector internals designed to deliver more fuel in a shorter injection period. BBi reports approximately 163% more injection quantity than stock at its stated full-load test conditions of 1,600 bar and 1,700 microseconds. This injection quantity figure is different from the nozzle flow increase. The internal modifications target engine response and high-RPM performance, but BBi cautions that this stage is more difficult to control.
Important Notes:
- Sold as a set of six new injectors. No core charge or core return required.
- Fits the 2003–early 2004 MY03 5.9L Cummins application. Confirm compatibility on 2004 trucks; these are separate from the MY4.5 application.
- Power capabilities depend on supporting modifications and tuning. Review the requirements for your selected stage.
- Stage 4 is for extreme competition only and includes internal body modifications. Standard Stages 1–3 do not include optional body modifications.
- Not legal for use in California, per BBI Injectors Direct.
