Description
Are you looking to unlock the full potential of your 6.7L Cummins? The ATS Aurora Compound Turbo Upgrade is a full twin-turbo system designed for Ram trucks that have outgrown what a single turbo can realistically deliver. Instead of forcing one turbo to handle both quick spool and high horsepower demands, this compound setup splits the workload between a high-pressure VFR turbo and a larger Aurora low-pressure turbo. The result is a near-instant response off the line, aggressive mid-range torque, and the airflow capacity to keep pulling hard up top without falling flat. Where this setup really stands out is under load. Whether you’re towing heavy, racing, or running a tuned street truck, compound turbos dramatically improve efficiency by reducing exhaust gas temperatures (EGTs) while increasing usable boost across the entire powerband. That means less heat stress on the engine, more consistent power delivery on long pulls, and a truck that feels controlled instead of strained when you’re in it hard. It also eliminates much of the “either/or” compromise of single-turbo upgrades; this system gives you spool and top-end at the same time, rather than choosing one over the other. Built around ATS’s Aurora and VFR turbocharger architecture, this system uses precision-cast housings, upgraded compressor and turbine wheel designs, and heavy-duty internal components engineered to survive sustained high boost and elevated exhaust temperatures. The low-pressure turbo is designed to move serious air volume efficiently, while the high-pressure unit maintains quick response and tight control at lower RPMs. This balance allows compound systems to support up to 750hp/1400ft lbs of torque. The kit is engineered as a complete bolt-on system with a dedicated compound manifold, properly routed charge piping, and supporting hardware designed for clean integration on the 6.7L Cummins platform. Thermal management is also a major focus, with coated turbine housings and optimized flow paths that help retain energy in the system where it’s needed while reducing unnecessary heat soak. The oil and coolant routing is designed for long-term durability under continuous load, making it suitable for towing-heavy builds as well as performance-focused street trucks. Overall, this upgrade isn’t just about adding power; it completely changes the way the engine breathes and responds. Instead of pushing a single turbo beyond its efficient range, the compound layout keeps both turbos operating in their optimal zones, resulting in stronger towing performance, more consistent power delivery, lower EGTs, and a much wider usable powerband across real-world driving conditions.

FEATURES & BENEFITS:
  • Massive Power & Torque: Achieve incredible performance gains tailored to your needs. The 3000/6000 system support up to 750hp/1400ft lbs, while the 4000/6000 system supports up to 900hp/1750ft lbs. By sharing the workload across two units, this system generates boost pressures exceeding 60 PSI (head studs are strongly recommended if exceeding 45 PSI).
  • Superior Thermal Management: To ensure maximum efficiency, the turbine housings on both turbos, the Vortex transfer manifold, and the included ATS Pulse Flow exhaust manifold are finished in a high-temp ceramic coating. This traps heat to drive the turbos more efficiently while providing substrate protection up to 1600°F and environmental protection up to 2000°F.
  • Eliminate Turbo Lag: By mounting the large Aurora 6000 turbocharger over the smaller high-pressure turbo, the system maximizes space and airflow efficiency. The smaller VFR primary turbo (available in 60mm or 64mm configurations) provides immediate low-RPM response while the secondary Aurora 6000 delivers massive top-end volume.
  • Lower EGTs & Better MPG: More air means more complete combustion. By providing a denser oxygen charge, this kit reduces heat stress on your 6.7L Cummins, prolonging engine life and improving fuel efficiency during heavy hauls.
  • The "One-and-Done" Install: We take the guesswork out of the shop. Every single nut, bolt, washer, hose clamp, reinforced silicone boot, and gasket is included. This is a comprehensive solution designed for a one-time install. Set it up once, and never worry about your turbo system hardware again.
About ATS Diesel Performance
ATS DIESEL PERFORMANCE

ATS Diesel Performance, based out of Arvada, Colorado, is a diesel performance manufacturing company that designs, engineers, and manufactures upgraded transmission components, valve bodies, patented heavy-duty torque converters, exhaust and intake manifolds, electronics, turbochargers, dual CP3 injection pumps, and more for Cummins, Powerstroke, and Duramax powered diesel trucks. Operating out of a humongous 110,000 square foot facility in the heart of the Rocky Mountains allows ATS to keep operations in-house, as opposed to overseas sourcing, and then grueling test their products at altitude and through grades and descents that would make other companies think twice. From full-time RV users who travel nonstop to high-horsepower competition-based vehicles, ATS has the answers.

ATS DIESEL TRANSMISSIONS

Clint Cannon and Ranee Elder founded Automotive Transmission Specialists in 1993. At that time, the company specialized in transmission repair for all types of vehicles. In 1997, the company "Performance Torque Converters" was founded, and they started doing torque converter rebuilds in-house. Bringing the capability of building torque converters in-house gave them more flexibility to service their racing customers. As the popularity of diesel trucks grew and more people became aware of the power upgrades available for their diesels, problems with diesel transmissions emerged.

Clint started research and development into a more robust torque converter to address the transmission issues. It was discovered that a clutch pack design was the answer to providing a robust torque converter. The development of the TripleLok Torque Converter and the company's focus on Diesel Performance products resulted in a rename of the company to ATS Diesel Performance.

By having their foot in the door before most, it allowed ATS Diesels transmission upgrades to grow with the demands of diesel trucks, putting them at the forefront of reliability. Fortunately for us, Clint didn't stop with transmissions and began to explore and refine upgraded turbochargers, intake and exhaust manifolds, and anything else to generate additional power with the ever-present mindset of maintaining powertrain reliability.

ATS Diesel products are proudly made in the USA.
