The Spectre Gunship is a heavily armed ground-attack aircraft first introduced in 1966 by Lockeed and Boeing. Lockheed was responsible for building the framework, while Boeing became responsible for transforming it into a creature of fear. The Spectre aircraft was armed with one Bofors 40mm automatic cannon, one M102 Howitzer 105mm cannon, and two M61 Vulcan 20mm cannons to the port side of the aircraft. Because of the massive nature of this aircraft, the fear that it impaled into the hearts of its adversaries, as well as the entire artillery being mounted on the right side, made the name “Spectre,” a perfect fit for the most dynamic turbo line ever developed for the 6.7L Dodge Cummins. The Spectre line of turbos, are the only true performance driven lineup for the 6.7L to keep drivability in mind, by allowing the end user to keep their entire VGT fully operational, including the factory exhaust brake.
To go along with the moniker of the gunship’s arsenal, the Spectre line has been divided into three categories, the Vulcan, the Bofors, and the recently unveiled Howitzer, and all three have various size options, as well as billet wheel and suppressor insert options. Whether your truck is equipped with a mild tuner and in need of some additional airflow to keep drive pressures down, or is running heavy tuning and fueling, there is a turbo to match up to your needs in the Spectre series.
And finally, if you’re the owner of a 6.0L Powerstroke, or a VVT equipped Duramax……WATCH OUT, we haven’t forgotten about you…..STAY TUNED!
