On 6th-generation Cummins engines, the stock intake manifold is designed to meet strict emissions and noise requirements, but its angular runner layout and limited plenum volume can create turbulence and airflow bottlenecks before air ever reaches the cylinders. That restriction can slow turbo response, reduce throttle sensitivity, and contribute to higher exhaust gas temperatures when towing or hauling.
Upgrading to a high-flow intake manifold for your 6.7L Cummins Ram HD improves airflow distribution and increases overall intake volume, helping the turbo operate more efficiently for faster spool-up, stronger low-RPM torque, and cooler EGTs under load. Many aftermarket manifolds also include multiple pre-tapped ports, making it easy to install a boost gauge, or add nozzles for water-methanol injection, nitrous, or propane systems without custom fabrication; perfect for performance-focused Ram 2500 and Ram 3500 owners.
And besides the purely functional attributes of these manifolds, how about the pure intention for them to look good! There is always something to be said for popping the hood of your Cummins and having a well dressed out engine compartment, as opposed to a dark, oil stained cavity that seeks attention. So give us a call or shoot an e-mail to cs@dieselpowerproducts.com, and we can help you determine which manifold is best for you, and if you haven't already gotten a cold air intake or exhaust, we'll help you decide which setup is best for you and your truck.
